We're just a dollar shy of the $20/month mark now if you don't want a service stuffed with unskippable ads which I find intolerable. They do offer 4k in their basic plans and comparable ad-free 4k plans from the Zaslav (cursed be his name, destroyer of entertainment) are already $21/month. So I'm sure we'll see further price increases soon and soon hit $25/month for most of these services ad free as Netflix is already there for their 4k ad free plan.
I have to wonder who pulls the trigger first on no more ad-free or probably more specifically everyone gets a minimum amount of ads and you can pay between 2x - 3x the price to reduce the amount by half. For extra viciousness I'm sure some company will introduce long-term lock-in where you can only buy the ad-free or lower ads plans in chunks of 6-12 months.

So it -sounds- like they're only selling US operations and will retain a global app version and operations which are under the ownership and control of non-US ownership but there will be a brand new app which people have to move to which will have some version of the algorithm.
I guess I'm curious then if the algorithm is being licensed to them or if they're buying it outright and global tiktok will rent it back and this might give CIA ghouls direct control of that to influence the global version of tiktok or what is going on there. Just how independent and separate is say Tiktok in France or Russia or Vietnam going to be from this new US control? Check other amazon listings, ebay, etc. It's entirely an online phenomenon.
You'll see suspiciously cheap n95s sold by random looking companies or individuals listed as seller and the reviews note they just got a bunch of loose masks not a proper 3M branded retail box so those types have absolutely been buying up this old stock in bulk for at least a year or two now, breaking these 440 boxes down and selling them in lots of 10 or 20 that they toss loose in mailers or amazon boxes and undercutting retail prices by anywhere from a mere 20% to up to more than half off, usually around $0.40 to $0.80 a mask.
Problem is these types of sellers often don't disclose this or make it super clear what you're getting. Plenty of people are fine with it because of the price break, but others are upset to see it. Retail packaged masks seem to sell for around $2 a piece usually, maybe $1.60 or so.

Well they're convinced the other side are utter paper tigers who will cower and whimper and die. When it comes to reactionaries thinking this of liberal Democrat voter types it's not unfounded given how the Democratic party is constantly lying down, surrendering, and generally amenable to being quickly cowed into apologizing for questioning the way reactionaries think and even adopting their views. Russia has nothing to lose at this point and don't give a fuck considering how sanctioned they are so they'll likely follow through but what they can do for Iran is severely limited right now as production of advanced missile/air defense systems is I believe pretty much being taken up by their own needs with regards to Ukraine and previous order commitments to other customers like India so the odds are not great they'll be able to DELIVER to Iran any modern air defense systems in any sizeable quantity in the next year at least if not several years. China on the other hand has a lot of capacity and could manufacture and deliver Iran weapons systems within a fairly short time frame. Probably 12 months or less if they really want to.
What is interesting about this is China has been trying to hold together the UN and the post WW2 order as has Russia because it represented about the best compromise and consensus you were ever going to get with the west involved and any new international system created would have the west demanding much more favorable terms for themselves, scaling back on international justice obligations and international law, etc, etc. So both have been desperate to maintain this flawed but good as it'll get system. This could just be a one-off but it could also represent a realization that there is no salvaging the UN and continuing to work within it is a fool's errand and that they must build alternative global consensus and perhaps law mechanisms which the west will likely spurn and declare invalid. But given the west is trampling over the last scraps of the old order as it is by enabling the zionist genocide of Gaza, unilateral sanctions, illegal military action, unfair trade actions designed to maintain their own supremacy, etc, etc. They hopefully have finally come to the conclusion that it's not worth keeping the thing sacrosanct and abiding by its rules while the west openly flaunts and defies them. To be bound by a system while your enemies are not but are also protected by that system while you are not is a weakness of the western capture of many of these "human rights" institutions and so on.

A lot of rutracker's stuff is full BluRay remuxes so not the best if you're not willing to re-encode or store things that size.
I'm told it's worth it if you regularly do this type of thing to get into private trackers assuming you can maintain ratio and follow the hit and run rules.

I mentioned that for oh 30-ish years people have had time-shifting options and commercial skipping options that started with VCRs and now with streaming and DRM/HDCP plus everything being on demand with the ability to just disable fast forwarding in certain segments you have for the first time no realistic ability to skip commercials. Sure you can watch what you want anytime but we're at real risk upon the removal of the ad-free tiers of being unable to skip commercials for the first time in decades, since home video hit the market which would be a dream for capitalists.
