  • I'd definitely try re-seating everything you can. Something may have gotten bumped out of position and it may be it begins to start, encounters a fatal hardware problem and turns off as soon as that.

  • No book recommendations but it definitely seems a focal point of historical revisionism for the west.

Basically going into and before the war the west had a real image problem. Colonialism, racism, the brutal excesses of industrial capitalism that led to the election of reformers like FDR. So they wanted to gloss themselves as these great people, to create this sense of unity, of a new west from the ashes. And after the war of course they had the interest of fighting communism so they had a desire to paint themselves as victors and the main forces in a major heroic war on the side of good. I mean it was probably the only time in modern history that the west as a whole had been on the right side of something like this even if for cynical reasons (wishing to pit Nazi Germany and USSR against each other, have them destroy each other then come in and pick up the pieces as profit).

So there was strong incentive and among the working class there was a genuine sense that people had pulled together and worked together during the war and that their troops were heroes so that was not a hard sell.

So I agree with the premise. The US and the capitalist west as a whole basically cast all their sins onto Nazi Germany and through the magic of their participation in the war (of which the US's interest in Europe was preventing the USSR from taking all of western Europe and turning it communist) were able to wash themselves clean of their own sins and come out the other side in the aftermath in the late 50s shining as these heroic good guys who'd fought for freedom and against this ultimate evil (Nazis). For this to work Nazi guilt and evil had to be focused on, taught, played up, etc.

We talk of end of goldfish memories and history starting after x date but in terms of US/western foreign policy there was a massive propaganda effort to do just that, to forget anything before WW2 and lionize instead the actions of the west (overplayed beyond what they were) instead as casting them as heroes. And they could do this somewhat as the US as part of its push to dismantle European power and cement itself as a new capitalist hegemon forced European countries to water down control of and in some cases divest themselves of colonies to again appear to be reformed and on the side of goodness.

So it's a huge point of myth-making. Not only are Nazis seen as racists who people get mad at, they were by necessity elevated to this great, intimidating, strong, intelligent power for the purposes of portraying the US/western defeat of them in this myth-making as all the better, more hard-won, more impressive. So reactionaries see these cultural depictions of clean, strong, cunning, formidable and usually honorable (clean wermacht myth) enemies and I think the desire there is the same that drives an embrace of the confederacy. Only it's more tempered in the case of Nazis because ALL of the cultural programming for half a century screamed how bad they were and because for a long time your old man or some tough dudes would beat the shit out of you for stanning Nazis because everyone knew they were the bad guys, America had been the good guys and why were you standing with the bad guys instead of America. And also of course because Nazis were foreigners. They were Germans.

  • Better have good succession plans really that snap into action immediately. Given how precisely the US and the zionist entity bombed Iranian command bunkers and the bombs they have at their disposal it's safer to assume that they'll get him if they want to get him.

I suppose if I was part of his security detail and knew it was imminent and time to go to ground that I'd have him discard all electronics, have him strip off all his clothes in an ordinary shop and put on new ones bought on the spot, new shoes, and get in a rental car pulled that very moment or commandeer a civilian car and find some very low key house not used by anyone near the levers of power normally and hide there with him and no electronics, no knowledge of his location except through chains of intermediaries each one knowing only the next person in the chain with only one living person of great trust knowing precisely where and understanding they must not speak this aloud around any electronic devices, must not type it out, text it, etc. It must be given verbally or on paper in a room without cameras or electronics like a random hotel room that has no reason for prior bugging by the Americans or opposition.

Khamenei (Iranian supreme leader) did basically this probably without the clothing changing, but he went totally to ground, no electronic communication, generals and top people couldn't reach or find him at all and it's the only reason the zionists weren't successful in bombing his location.

  • Yeah that section just left even more questions open than answers. They say it comes from the ground-soil maybe because plants uptake lead from contaminated soil which fair enough that's true. But they also say it could come during the processing stage due to machinery which is a big "huh wtf?" from me. Because like how? Are the machines handing and grinding this stuff made of lead themselves? Are the floors? Do they lube them with lead? How the fuck is all this lead supposedly getting in from machinery? Most machinery is made of steel, iron, aluminum, titanium, etc with some plastic involved at points. Now if that plastic is a certain kind of PVT/poly-vinyl there are processes that use lead in the mix when making it but if so there should also probably be mention of microplastics present.

It's the same with articles on lead in chocolate. I understand the principles of contaminated soil from leaded gas, industry, smog, illegal dumping, etc and how plants uptake that. But as with this in the case of chocolate they mention the possibility of contamination during processing which leaves me with the same questions about how lead is used and occurs in anything resembling a modern industrial site made in the last 80 years. Are they using lead pipes for piping the product from one part to another? Like get some experts in and speculate about the actual mechanism otherwise it all seems like covering all their bases theorizing about remote possibilities.

  • Not an expert on it, but don't think they can get status info. What they could do is send unmute or volume up commands at the start of commercials and every 15 seconds thereafter. Say volume up and then down command so it doesn't actually change the volume just breaks the mute. Wouldn't stop people turning the volume all the way down though many TVs now don't turn it off at zero or stop at 1.

That and randomly placed "click now to prevent us from showing you 3 more minutes of ads" buttons that pop up somewhere in the last 45 seconds to force people to pay attention or risk missing it and getting hit with more commercials seem viable.

  • It's both a technological problem (Russia, China both have the technical capabilities to build systems capable of detecting and dealing with threats like modern 4/5th gen stealth aircraft and missile interception, not sure if anyone else anywhere other than the US and their puppets have anywhere near that ability, India buys or licenses tech from Russia) AND a problem of resources to build and maintain and stock interceptors for such systems which is a drain on smaller countries and even Russia has issues producing enough of the actual systems themselves at this point due to various bottlenecks.

I'd say China and Russia have the ability to engage the US on a close to even field and repel or inflict horrific damages on the US for an incursion. India might as well from purchased systems but I don't really know. Iran clearly doesn't. So it's definitely a major powers thing.

  • Not up to the task of stopping the US. They have I think at best some variant S-300 systems (the number marmite floated was I think 4?) but only a handful. Truth is the US will use radar seeking munitions, stealth planes to deliver them combined with off-shore missile strikes using like tomahawks to take out the big static ones like those easily just like they did on their run on Iran. Venezuela's are a bit better than what Iran had but there are so few of them they can be overwhelmed and will be. I doubt they take down a single US plane.

If the US wants to go in and decapitating strike Maduro they'll be in, disabling/destroying their AA (including via hacking, comms disruption, jamming) and out within half an hour. They'll do the disabling on the fly with the strike planes for launching the decapitation right behind them. F-35 may be able to evade or at least operate without disabling these systems as well. Not sure.

Fact is if you want to stand up to the US you need numbers. Exactly one unit of the most advanced air defense system in existence won't stop an overwhelming onslaught of off-shore and air-launched missiles and drones converging on it. So you need numbers, defense in depth, and to make it costly and draining enough to US arsenals that they don't think it's worth it. I'd also say if it's actually possible to hide such things from the US (not easy at all) say if you had underground railways you could move them along with multiple stations to pop up out of that would give you a massive advantage as they count on being able to know where they are to fire at and neutralize them and if you can wait until their planes are atop you, wait until they're taking out some of your radars and AA and flying in deeper, then pop up, flip your radar on and fire you could actually make them pay. But the US knows this so goes to great lengths to track surface movements of these units.

Thing is Ukraine has acted as a testing lab for the coming war with China, to get the US/NATO tuned and ready for what to expert in modern warfare, to test their modern systems and see what counters are deployed and come up with their own. So the US knows quite a bit about these types of systems that Venezuela is operating and probably kind of wants a test run using their own command and tactics (as opposed to handed over to Ukrainians) of some of the toys and tactics they've learned of from Ukraine. Not saying the US is going to attack them just to test but it's definitely another weight on the scale in favor of doing it.

  • All other things to achieve their goals there have failed. They took their shot at Iran and the middle east and have more or less locked it down as much as they can in their favor without a massive war that could drag on for 10 years which they cannot afford if they want to war with China before that point. The zionists and US took out Assad, Syria is a puppet, Hezbollah mostly confined to quarters, Hamas isn't going to be in a position to carry out huge operations soon in the future now thanks to that deal, Iran bombed and cowed, the list goes on.

So this is one of those points on the game map glowing red for enemy and they want to lock down their hemisphere economically, militarily, etc for the coming cold war and hot war with China. It's either this or go back to the middle east or go over and try to topple the Sahal states in Africa (which they are doing with ISIS and Ukrainian fascist paramilitaries for the moment and if that fails in 5 years maybe they'll try this or maybe they'll be at war with China already).

It is not US preference to militarily invade a country as they have learned it often doesn't end well and turns the western public against them over time. Vietnam, Korea, etc. Meanwhile the last cold war shows a legacy of success with various coups, color revolutions, kill squads, etc. So that's always their first choice. But when that fails they're the global empire so they're going to reach for the military and try and pull out a win. They did get a win in Libya after all, the destabilization there suits them wonderfully. Syria too. So military campaigns have had success too.

  • Decapitating strike is highly likely in the cards given their great man focus on him and ire at him stymieing their previous attempts at regime change, it's a gangster tier revenge thing really for thugs like Marco Rubio. A way to say "even if you resist at first and seem to win, if you humiliate us we'll get you sooner or later".

I'd say either they do just that, probably try to kill some other top loyalist generals and officials too as one guy is kind of a waste (this may take place over weeks of time or months of strikes to accomplish this) then declare that mission was accomplished bad dude is gone, drug trafficking stopped and Trump parades around.

OR they do the decapitation followed by an invasion with US troops and special forces, they push the Venezuelan army out of a given city perhaps the capital, hand power to say the peace prize winner who's been set up perfectly for it, then start arming the reactionary elements in Venezuela and doing kill squad stuff against anyone a bit too socialist or at least allowing the local reactionaries to do that with some encouragement and preventing any retaliation. You then have a kind of Yemen or Afghanistan situation. You keep a minimal force, continue doing some air-strikes and such and let a war burn for years where you have the international community [tm] recognized government in the capital run by imperialist reactionary pawns who is given the money, the embassies, the UN seat, etc and then you have the rest of the country holding out but the US in no real rush to take it, just happy to deny China and Russia trade and military deals and secure the legal rights to the oil and make any oil from rebel areas illegal and subject to consideration as funding "narco-terrorists".

Of course this all could just be bullying pressure tactics with Trump making some demand for control of oil and/or tribute after killing some people of various ranks and threatening worse and Venezuela say agreeing to not do military treaties or purchases from China or Russia, agreeing to some US economic/oil demands, and so on.

  • Again this is true but mostly for the global north.

I don't think anyone else cares that much more either. It's a case of "damn that sucks but not happening to me and mine so -shrug-". I mean we haven't seen riots or people trying to shut down Arab countries over the genocide of fellow Muslims over the past two years and the disdain for the entity is likely to continue as is the resignation that their governments will ignore them and normalize with it and that's life. The Asian countries aren't about to stop trade over it. African nations aren't about to do anything either. Latin America has its own more pressing problems and this will recede from the mind. Europe and the US will get historical revisionism. Who else is there?

Most likely a low intensity attempt at BDS will continue with only mild success as the US and Europe continue to prop it up financially, culturally, etc and they will be spending hundreds of millions on propaganda, on critically acclaimed cable short form content, on movies, on references in TV shows, on influencers to say subtle things or give them trips to their propaganda exhibit on the thing.

I really think people just are not good at keeping hatred burning inside them without something actively stoking it. So it's likely this will recede from the minds, the clampdown and control of the narrative will drive into overdrive, there will be a few admissions, some symbolic heads will roll or be offered up even if only as targets for ire and after nothing happens because the US protects them everyone will more or less let it recede behind whatever the latest US manufactured outrage is, probably the re-taking of Taiwan by China after they declare independence at US insistence and the consequent war for instance will blow this all out of the minds of most people within 5 years. If not that then other US atrocities like perhaps a war on Venezuela, or a big hyped up thing about totally not a CIA cut-out extremist islamist group ISIS type doing horrendous things. The liberal zionists will for sure be shoved to the front for propaganda messaging about mistakes and inevitabilities and how sad it all makes them boo hoo.

I'd love to be wrong but they are very good at this and have done so in such a successful way with such a great track record. The time for western media or the mainstream to break on the narrative and change the course of this, for countries to stand up and be counted was at least 6 months ago if not longer. From here the effort only goes downhill because now it's an Arab problem that they'll take care of among themselves and the zionist hands can be nice and clean of the atrocities they delegate out and people will be prompted with racist suggests that the whole region is just complicated and full of violent people.

It's radicalizing but so was Bernie's failure and sheep-dogging for the Dems. So have been many other events. I don't see a sea-change that results in the zionist entity actually being isolated and BDS'ed into compliance or collapse as if people didn't feel the guilt to do that while the genocide was at its most intense they certainly won't do it in the aftermath. If celebrities only barely stood up with the most tepid and couched criticism at the very end in the most brutal moments they're not going to stick their necks out and popularize BDS now that the zionists will be out to take their heads for daring to cross them. If this is all we mustered with tiktok not fully under US propagnada direction think how much worse it will be with even more intense censorship going forward on all major platforms. It's harder to censor things people KNOW are happening, it makes them aware of the censorship and resentful of it and uppity. But things that have receded are easily memory-holed, suppressed, language policed to shut down criticism of the zionists or subsume it into something harmless.

The world failed. And it will be written about and catalogued and future zionists will denounce it and distance themselves from it after it's quietly admitted to in 25 years with no fan-fare and no consequences because that was the old "israel" just like Bush was just the old US.

    I hope I'm wrong.

  • Yeah I'm really worried about this. They're for sure doing this among other reasons to try to kill the case and the pressure they're going to put on to drop the case as moot will be incredibly intense as will the pressure for the judges there to rule at BEST that the zionists /WERE/ maybe committing genocide or war crimes but only as pertains to their military actions after Oct 7th and not as a general matter of operations and history going back decades.

  • Sounds like you haven't met many or you only meet Asian ML-MZT type "Maoists" who are distinct and not really the same at all as western Maoists (MLM). Maoists in Texas or Europe or South America tend to be deranged ultras but it's quite possible perhaps in India they're not like that or in Vietnam, China, etc.

  • right-wing-nut-jobs

  • Some sort of cover for the mask perhaps? Gaiters seem popular among chuds on their own without masks (for that operator look) so you might slip right under their radar by wearing one over it. Otherwise I think you can act crazed or like others said invent some conspiracy theory about how it protects you from something in the air like government experimental micro-metal particles that the military is pumping in to poison the brains of the population. See they argue because they think they can intimidate you or think you're delusional and operating off bad info, so if you lean into that only in a direction they have no talking points to deal with they'll short circuit.

  • What happens when their institutional knowledge decays?

How would this happen when it's being actively used? It would be one thing if there was a Butlerian jihad that lasted 5 years or something but I find that doubtful. I suppose one could question what happens if there's a nuclear war or some other similar level cataclysm and how able would humans in the ashes be to restart high tech manufacturing and society and there is a bit of a question mark on that with estimates saying 30 years or 100 years or 150 years to get back on top again.

I've heard some very dire things about if we're set back too far because all the easy to access hydrocarbons and metals have been mined so rebuilding society from say the start of the industrial age level tech may not be easily possible for some speculative set of re-primitive-ized humans who lack access to any parts of the modern supply chain, industrialization etc in any working order and such a surviving group of primitive humans might end up stuck for 500 or a thousand years in a pre-industrial society trying but failing to break out of it. That seems a more realistic and dire problem than a bunch of humans with modern knowledge and tools still having to re-do some a bit of specific knowledge.

I'd say that this stuff in particular was built off other sciences and human knowledge and we could start again off whatever basis they began working off but with the advantage of having samples of the work and at least vague ideas of working principles which is more than can be said for the people who originally built this stuff in the last 80 years of human society from what came before them with a lot of trial, error and experimentation. It would probably fuck up capitalist societies more than China who could just direct state research at it while western capitalists squabble and embezzle government grants before resolving to buy or steal China's knowledge.

  • In Dr Strangelove the general in the war-room talks about US losses topping 10-20 million and making them therefore the winners and that is how nuclear war gaming works for these people. To win you merely need to come out more able than your opponent and if the US thinks this fight against China is existential for it (it does) it will absolutely be willing to sacrifice two hundred million proles to death in nuclear fire as long as they're convinced by their generals China will be totally removed from the game-board as a complete loss and defeat and there will be enough of the US left to rebuild and exert some power. Plus as the guaranteed aggressor doing the first strike they'll have time to move the generals, politicians, top bourgeoisie, etc to bunkers ahead of time and thus be very comfortable with those losses because they won't be part of them.

So we should be very worried about this. It's not whether it can intercept 90% of China's retaliation it's whether the top brass think it can and press the red button. If they're right they win and capitalist horror and imperial hegemony is maintained another century with the blood of a billion people, if they're wrong then a billion people still die and the world communist super-power is wiped out leaving capitalists all over fighting again for the next 50 years and the revolution that much further away for most people.

  • He could've just said none of that, what would he even gain by railing against Cuba and Venezuela?

Um acktually his Democratic party appointed minders consultants informed him it was necessary to get more of the Latino vote despite the fact he was already doing well. By doing this he reassures first and second generation gusanos that his "socialism" is nothing like the real deal. Won't stop Fox News and the NY Post and his opponents in their attack ads from depicting him as literally mega-Stalin of course but the consultants said he should.

  • See! The woke climate agenda was all a lie after all, it was just more sunlight just like we and Exon mobile said!

Total aside but I recently became aware of a reactionary relative who totally denies climate change, complete chud but is terrified of high carbon dioxide gas levels in their house because they've become aware that they impair brain function. This person also avoids fluoride and declares it a plot to sap the intelligence and willpower of the population. So they always have their windows open. But they also use a gas stove despite knowing it produces co2 among other things, they just run a fan. To me it seems like if this person wasn't totally captivated by fossil fuel propaganda and Fox News group-think that they might accidentally become a useful crank who thinks high CO2 is a globalist plot to control the population and thus oppose carbon emissions.

  • That sucks. Especially when you can get a tyvek suit cover-all on amazon for around $25 and take that off before entering the house or at least rinse it down.

Off the top of my head I'd surmise a bad (but still way better than this) cheap way to do it would be to use one of those, a respirator with p100 cartridge ($35) and plastic tarps you use painters tape on to apply against the bottom of the wall, then collect the results by rolling the tarp up, slide contents into garbage bag and re-use tarp. Nowhere near safe (and so much dust would float beyond it but what can you do) but would cut down on soil contamination and other things. Of course if he's fine breathing it in you could forget the respirator because he's fine with it. But if you did it yourself that's about what it would cost to mostly protect yourself (shaking/brushing off the suit, ideally using a garden hose to rinse it away from the house of course and then removing the suit outdoors, leaving it outdoors and then going inside to quickly shower/rinse your face). Misting anytime you're creating or moving dust would also be advisable but may not be practical and risks creating run-off if you're using anything but very light amounts of water (though done away from the house you're at least removing the risk to your garden and such). Of course the proper thing to do is not this. It's a lot more involved and expensive.
