One thing I do like about the trailers is that, at low speeds at least, icy conditions are really just a hazard for the one stuck pedalling the bike. I can do 80% of my trips on paths separated from cars so it's usually about as much risk as crossing the road.
I do costco runs with my 2 kids in the trailer. Slowly start putting more and more stuff around them and they think it's some kind of game. Thankfully I have an ebike cause that shit is heavy on the way home.
Yeah I added this to my ereader years ago after a friend recommended it enough times that I felt obligated to. Opened it once but couldn’t fight the feeling that it was going to be terrible so never started.
Yeah the drop in tariffs on Chinese EVs is going to have some blowback for sure. Really curious how the typical Canadian view of China is going to change over the next few years. Everyone is so libbed up over trump I think they’ll take anything. But even in a thread glazing China people will bring up the Michaels, so it’s incoherent still.
Yeah I was going to say that it didn't sound like an IoT issue. I do think modern appliances have way too much computer in them because they are prone to failure, and as soon as the OEM stops making the board from your specific machine, you're basically fucked when it comes to repairs.
When my samsung range died I found a guy halfway across the country on some appliance forum that specialized in repairing their boards and it bought me an extra 4 years, but then some other chip failed.
I’d say more important is the fact that a community will exist around it. For the SteamDeck you have no idea how much easier it is to find answers to very specific problems simply because the exact same hardware is being run by millions of people.
Also for similar reasons, some developers will optimize for the hardware.
And being run by a person who, despite many flaws, has chosen not to chase infinite growth and has not taken his company public. Imo this has protect led them from the worst of enshittification (for now).
Yeah this isn’t a libertarian moment. This is just a dumb socialite wanting to be close to the levers of power/influence. Obviously not good for Chomsky fans, but it doesn’t say anything about his political stance. Most people have already seen the cracks in his ideology anyways .
I need an email, dm me and I’ll send one your way. IME torrent leech doesn’t have way more content, but what they have will be faster and more reliable.
Yeah I’m about the same. I have a SD but it’s in docked mode 90% of the time, and I’d love something with a bit more juice, so the cube looks perfect. I’ll probably sell the SD when this drops to ease the blow. While I obviously love that the cube will function as a full computer, in a LTT video on it he brought up an important point that they can’t let game sales subsidize the price, because there’d be nothing stopping a company with no intention of buying games from scooping up thousands of subsidized computers. So the price point might scare me away.
Only had 3 entries at the time, but I went through the dragon age series before the latest came out. It was pretty fun to watch the evolution of the series. 2 was much better than I remembered at launch, and I think Origins had some serious nostalgia propping up its legacy (it’s still good tho).
Talking to Canadian libs about the US recently has to be one of the most infuriating things. Yes they are evil, but the tariffs and Trump has very little to do with it. We’ve been perfectly content being the lapdog of the Great Evil, and continue to reap the benefits of being in the imperial core.
