  • There are states where they aren't?!

  • Laudable goal, but whatever they're doing isn't working based on some of the graduates I've known.

  • listen, I've been in technology since before i-drive existed and I've never heard of i-drive nor do I care about the vocabulary they used.

The first time I ever heard the term sideloading was when these mobile stores started using it to make other options sound illegitimate.

  • A while back I fell into the rabbit hole of people dropping off the baby without informing the other parent. turns out it's really hard to get the kid back

  • Just wanted to stick up for that guy's analogy. It's perfect, actually.

The point of an analogy is to compare one situation to another situation in such a way that they have a common thread, a common axis. The point isn't for both situations to be the exact same.

  • What does this even mean? You gonna punch every other person you see?

  • And no social media graffiti on the main menu.

I'm still weirded out by that, all these years later.

  • You missed Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska, and South Dakota

  • Depends. Are we talking about posts or comments? Comments shouldn't even have scores in the first place. Lemmy is better when you hide comment scores and sort comments by old.

  • They're delaying it by six months. They're banking on this blowing over by then. Fuck discord.

  • I went back to IRC a couple of weeks ago and it's been such a breath of fresh air to use good technology again.

  • Yeah, I guess. You could make the argument the answer should just be "Drive."

  • You may be overestimating how literate the average person is.

  • The things people criticize are so fucking brainless these days. AI this, slop that.

Not a single one of you made fun of "let's rewrite it in Rust." You can't even elevate to the level of mildly funny parroting.

  • I can't believe what pretentious twats they sounded like in 1900

  • Puppy Linux is Perfect.

  • They do care. See archive.org for example.

Conflating care with the bottom line of your corporation is disingenuous.

The USA spends $15k/student annually which is 30% higher than the global median. Why do U.S. schools have "fundraisers" where kids are incentivized to sell stuff to people?
