  • "Ohio isn't in the midwest."

  • A mural of another country's political scandal is something you would never see in the US.

  • Hey Colorado. GFY and get your damn politicians under control.

  • There are even people writing 'software' who don't know that.

  • Even people who experienced that world firsthand when they were in school can't imagine going back to that. You'll never convince people who don't remember those times.

  • If you've got a blue collar, you are much more valuable to society than if you have a white one. This is being proven in a very real way lately with how white collar work is literally an easier problem to automate.

  • I'm always surprised by how well Utah and Idaho do. Seems like life expectancy has more to do with geography than politics.

  • Heh. I assume everyone is a bad person unless they immensely prove that they aren't. they can't do lots of drugs, lead chaotic lives, be anti-intellectual, be a gossip, be greedy, a control freak, have an immoral job, use religion as a cudgel, have no integrity, be overly optimistic, have lots of kids, etc. etc.

  • Because I'm happy when I have privacy and unhappy when I don't.

  • I can only assume you haven't used it for anything it's good at lately. The truth is somewhere in the middle. Just like we still have websites after the dot com bubble, there will still be LLMs after the AI bubble pops.

  • We need more diversity in game engines, not less, so I'm fine with this

  • They are underestimating my willingness to run tiny systems. Say hello to Tiny Core Linux.

  • To all the people saying stoat: how do you cope with the lack of audio notifications? It's really bugging the shit out of me that it doesn't have them, cause I keep missing everything my chat partners say

  • I'm tired of people breaking software. If your software broke because of a dependency then next time maybe you shouldn't introduce one.

  • Oh cool so that means Star Citizen will be finished by then, right? AI should be able to build an even better version from scratch in a few hours, surely

  • Learning the language -- easier.

    Writing good software -- harder.

  • Censorship being taboo.

The USA spends $15k/student annually which is 30% higher than the global median. Why do U.S. schools have "fundraisers" where kids are incentivized to sell stuff to people?
