why would you take anything you see on the internet seriously?

  • If somebody can't moderate their instance in any kind of way that's impacting other parts of the federation, it makes sense to defederate until they fix their problems.

I don't think anybody should have open signups. It's literally just an invitation to mess with the rest of us who are federated with the instance.

  • With Stable Diffusion's case, you would use the software to determine what targets to protect, rather than destroy, obviously.

And so begins the big titty resistance against the machines.

  • This is awesome!

  • It could be salvageable but it's not offering anything better than the original in my opinion, which makes it not really worth it. It's really hard to improve on perfection when you're adapting and not just making something based on the source material.

It's fun to see animated shows in live action but often they change from the source material either in an unfulfilling way or because they kind of try to find a middle ground nobody really wants. They need it to be quickly appealing to new entrants into the series, while also being familiar to the old fans, but the quick appeal usually takes away from what made it a fan favorite in the first place which disenfranchises the existing fanbase while never really appealing to new people.

Netflix also sucks as a content creator and host because they spin up and axe things like a rotary sawblade, so even if something is genuinely salvageable (I liked Cowboy Bebop) chances are it never even gets a shot. I would rather somebody take the source material and try a different approach, and that's why I was into Bebop is that they pitched it as "a remix" and not a direct adaptation. When you don't give a shit about alienating the existing fans you can actually try cool weird shit instead of just retreading the same ground over and over again.

  • That is a good joke. I laughed for a few minutes before being saddened.

They washed down literally everything that made the show good. All of the aspects are simplified to the point that it's just a shell of itself. ATLA characters are actually pretty complex and have a lot of good interactions and growth together, which is terribly absent from the remake.

  • You can only really pull that with older people and children. Most of us millennials can spot the patterns AI gen produces, but I've seen my dad just consume the content and be largely unaware of the fact that it was artificially generated. He constantly complains those videos say nothing but watches tons of them anyways, mostly related to non-news about sports.

  • No, you have to blame the end user. It's like when employers say "nobody is looking for work" - yeah buddy, nobody is looking to work for you for slave wages.

  • Ah hello fellow Garuda user and Star Trek fan.

May you and your OS Live Long and Prosper.

  • Yeah, that's where all the tech millionaires live, of course they're going to buy the luxury status symbol.

  • You don't need to sign up for forums for them to be searched through.

The point is that Discord is an information black hole. It's all contained within the server, unindexed, private, hidden, and entirely gone if the server gets deleted.

  • Yes.

    The correct answer was forum.

  • @tumblr I noticed that Tumblr only supports Stripe as the only payment tool. Is there any particular reason? Why can't I use other online payment tools? For example, is

    Jump
  • This guy has been posting on multiple subs regarding taking PayPal over Stripe and it's kinda sus.

This exact post is on the Wordpress community as well.

  • So the implication here is that we should just continue to die? Lmao these fucks.

  • I think it boils down to preference of thumb vs pinky. The ergo choice is thumb but the conditioned choice is pinky.

  • How does the design of the reactor account for the delays and overruns?

From what I understand all the EHR reactors are behind schedule outside of a few running ones.

I know China and India build lots of Canadian reactors, although China has moved to use of their homegrown adaptation of the Westinghouse AP-1000. They have traditionally operated a lot of CANDU plants as well.

Do you think the EHR is an effective design compared to other international variants or is the problem pretty much just the attitude of the workers?

  • I've had several Keychrons and the only one that failed on me was due to liquid damage. I've had three of them and the original one I purchased for working on a Mac is still running strong with a few coffee stains. The second one I bought with a backlight lasted two years and died by my own hand. I have a new backlit one with a different set of keycaps and it's been going strong for a year with no issues.

I tend to buy the wired C2 series which is the cheapest lineup. The great thing about Keychrons is that they are highly repairable and customizable by the user. You can replace keycaps, switches, and the keyboards are all designed to support both layouts with each requisite key included for Command and Windows. It can toggle to either OS via the flip of a switch, and you can attach the keycaps you prefer.

I use the Windows layout on all of my machines that run Linux, personally. You could easily keep the Windows configuration switch and just uh, replace the key I guess if that's your aesthetic preference. I would probably do that if I were in your position. The keycaps are included and it's not going to interfere unless you flip the switch.

  • Freedom costs a buck 'o five your personal data.

  • Why not just use SoulSeek?

  • Yeah but they're not priced slightly higher, they're priced exponentially higher.

I can't afford a Tesla, even if it'd save me money on gas. It may be cheaper to own with a TCO calculation but I was able to purchase my vehicle outright. I would have to take out a loan and do financing if I were to want to purchase an EV. I may pay more overall for the life of the car in gasoline, but ultimately that is an expense that's amortized over time, and doesn't have an interest rate attached to it.

I don't like leasing or financing. I find it to be a waste of money. I would rather generally wait and save up than amortize a cost with an interest rate. Canada's interest rates are incredibly high right now due to recessive market forces.
