  • This is a lesson on marketing. "No Kings" rolls off the tongue. Monarchy invokes autocracy/dictatorship, it's an easy transition into connecting that it's the opposite of democracy.

"Rulers" kind of include democratically elected ones. "Oligarchs" are too targeted and a big word. And like you said, there are other problems too.

What's why "Fake News" and "Make America Great Again" worked so well. Simple and stupid, an elementary schooler can read it. And have enough ambiguity that they can be interpreted however the listener wants to.

The organization had tried other slogans for their protests, none brought out more people like "No Kings". Give people what they want I guess.

  • Yeah, a UK friend of mine mentioned that it is meant to prevent kids from playing hooky (ditch school). Meanwhile in Canada, we're free range children.

It does probably depend on the school location.

  • My aim is currently at big tech and food conglomerates specifically. I still have a soft spot for small businesses and B Corps from the US. If they go out of business, then all that's left are the corpos.

  • Manufacturers did give up on that relatively quick. 3DS was a thing around that time too.

  • Ah I see, thanks!

  • Canadians that went to work in the US have been moving back or contemplating doing so this year

  • Is "cure" an ingredient?

  • Америка скоро снова станет великой

  • I remember my dreams very vividly and I am also a l ucid dreamer where I can sometimes participate. I cannot see imagery in my mind when I'm awake.

  • I heard the ReVanced patching stopped working recently. Is that not the case anymore?

  • What do you think about Qobuz as a musician?

  • I also don't know why we tip in Canada, they have the minimum wage paid. It's still not a "living wage", but the retail worker has the same wage.

  • People are so afraid of the word still. A balance of implementing sensible ideas from the political spectrum is the way.

If you lean too hard towards one ideology you almost always get a murderous autocracy.

China has not been a communist state for a long time. It's a hyper capitalist state with socialist values, while still under a dictatorship.

  • Yeah, I went once and would not revisit. I think it may be a personal preference. I don't drink, buy timeshares, hire prostitutes or gamble, I'm not the target audience. Also a lot of grungy homeless people on the strip. Food was good though.

  • No doubt. We are cheaper for sure.

  • So you have suggestions?

  • I never frame the YouTuber as a factual citation, I specifically framed it as a point of view of one person. OP asked for any criticisms going around.

  • Not defending the YouTuber here. I'm just replying to the OP asking what critiques are out there, and this was one I came across.

I still think their target audience is the US population, as with many digital products made in Canada. It's a pattern I've seen constantly as a Canadian. Larger consumer base = more money.

There are different versions yes, I see the Canadian version when I go on it. I will argue that the product itself is 100% born out of the polarization and decline of American journalism, and media conglomerates owning new organizations with business interests.

  • I would say depending on the filling. But Japanese milk bread is worth a try for any filling. Fluffy and buttery.
