    Many successful entrepreneurs have humble beginnings: Jeff Bezos started Amazon in his garage. Mark Zuckerberg launched Facebook in his dorm room, and Steve Jobs built Apple at his parents’ house.

    These “scrappy startups” are always bullshit. Bezos had massive family funding before being successful.

    In July 1994, Bezos’ parents, Jacklyn and Miguel Bezos, invested $10,000 in Amazon, which was approximately 1% of the company’s initial funding. This investment was crucial, as it helped Bezos secure additional funding from other investors. In 1995, Amazon raised $1 million in funding from family and friends, including Bezos’ parents, who invested an additional $50,000.

    edit - if you moved out of the USA to somewhere else and became a citizen, would your birth certificate transfer? Or still beholden to whatever your state decides?
