  • Wait what.

apt-get is made for scripting, apt is interactive. Both should resolve dependencies. dpkg does not resolve them.

But for interactive usage always use apt, guides using apt-get have no idea what they are doing

  • You need to edit the config file

  • And then go into the config and uncomment stuff

  • You dont need su for updates

  • Nach dem Update dann kaputt oder bootet nicht mehr...

    Glorifiziert mal keine Paketbasierten Systeme

Debian 13 ist gerade hart am strugglen zB

  • Lol I would do that instinctively I think

  • brightnessctl is useful, can do percentage-wise. With some shell math you can also make buttons to increase and decrease it

  • So like 3 more

  • Looks like a reflection on the camera lens for me?

  • 🤌

  • Spuk 💀👻

    Spuck😗💦

  • What

  • Docker to Podman, absolutely. Also checkout using base images instead of random intransparent downstream ones.

VMs are debatable. They are nice for separating things way better than docker does.

As distro, NixOS is very custom and you will want to learn its way. Arch does not make sense I think, but you can use anything as a server.

Otherwise Alma or Debian? Try HeliumOS too! Or uBlue uCore

  • The video is the same. The audio is adapted to the video.

.mkv containers can include many things, mp4 only one audio one video afaik

Using ffmpeg you can extract audio and video and combine them how you like into an mkv or whatever. Very powerful tool

Handbrake if you prefer learning a complex GUI

  • Wait is this pro-nuclear power propaganda?

So do you want the nuclear waste in your basement, @LiamBox@lemmy.ml ?

  • Oh damn didnt know about:translations!

  • Oh damn "tab completions that just work" is so damn accurate

I have a hard time without fish

  • Not really

Btw Gentoo has binary cache, you can also have your own binary cache so build stuff on one machine, deploy on 100

NixOS is hosted on Github which is kinda insane.

Also it is very hard to do general compiler optimizations or compile your own kernel on NixOS for reasons

  • Also you can reset a system pretty much by downloading the default config files and rebuilding
