  • I was with my girlfriend and my grandfather had called and asked me to pick him up some Popeyes. I drive over there, grab his order and wait at a red light.

    there was a woman who was walking with her hair in front of her face and a limp. told my gf "damn, kinda early to be high eh? its only 2pm" and chuckled.

    the woman approached my car and knocked on my window. scared shitless, I crack the window just a tiny bit and say hello. she asked for help, throws her hair backwards and reveals blood all over her face... she was dripping blood everywhere, visual is burned in my memory forever... she couldn't have been older than 16

    she tells me that she got jumped for her phone by a group of kids, I tell her to get in the back of my car and I drive towards where she said she got jumped just in case I can find who jumped her while dialing 911. scary stuff...

    I believe if someone in a position of authority who understands how vital E2EE is in order for the internet to work, this suggestion wouldn't even be on the table.

    its a case of just kicking destroying E2EE down the road for another generation to deal with, I believe. not sure what the solution is, either

  • nice! how much stress did that put on your body? like, were you drenched in sweat after walking?

    I ask because I feel like it's much easier to get a good night's sleep after getting in a workout that pushed my body to the limit. if you walked 10 miles a day every day, after awhile, it should take less of a toll on your body

  • hmm... a cyclist test for bikes that have motors or can go very fast, like e-bikes, sure. but I disagree that a license is neccessary for a bike that only has petals.

    theres not much damage someone can do to another person while riding a bike when compared to cars. the amount of damage one can do on a bike that only has pedals goes way down compared to a car.

    I tried looking up how many bike accidents happen that dont involve a vehicle. the number is (probably) so low, I couldn't find any solid numbers lol
