  • It is quite odd, the press-release from the German Federal Ministry cited above is 1) not published in German, 2) this English version is set (stealthily) among German publication, and 3) no mainstream German media reports about it, at least online.

🤔 As if the Ministry wished to keep it as secret as possible …🙊

  • U.S. brokers Gaza aid meeting between UN and GHF to reduce tensions(Axios, 2025-08-07)

    https://www.axios.com/2025/08/07/un-ghf-gaza-aid-meeting-starvation———

Senior #UN aid officials met Wednesday with the chair of the U.S. and Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, marking their first direct engagement since the foundation began operating in Gaza in late May, according to a U.S. official and two other sources with direct knowledge.

U.S. diplomat Morgan Ortagus participated alongside #GHF chair Johnnie Moore and representatives of the World Food Program, #UNICEF, the International Organization for Migration, the UN Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and the International Red Cross.

Sources with knowledge of the meeting said … unusual ground rules: No phones were allowed in the meeting, and … nothing in the meeting could be attributed to its participants.

No decision was made on cooperation in Gaza, according to the sources.

  • Don’t take me wrong, no offence against my adorable Caitlin Johnstone, but.

Maybe it’s Genesis 1:26 ? (depends wholly on definition of “mankind” and “animals” etc.)😔

Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

  • Umm Al-Khair mourns activist slain by Israeli settler | Basel Adra, Yuval Abraham and Oren Ziv (+972 Magazine, 2025-07-29)

    https://www.972mag.com/awdah-hathaleen-slain-israeli-settler/———

Yesterday evening, an Israeli settler shot dead the Palestinian activist Awdah Hathaleen in his community of Umm Al-Khair, in the southern occupied West Bank. Known to many international solidarity activists and foreign diplomats for his steadfast non-violent resistance to Israel’s ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian communities of Masafer Yatta, the 31-year-old was critically wounded by a bullet that penetrated his lung, and he died before reaching the hospital.

[the suspected killer] Levi claimed he opened fire in Umm Al-Khair because he had been assaulted by “dozens of rioters” …

However, an examination by +972 and Local Call of around 20 videos from the incident makes clear that it was the settlers who attacked the Palestinian residents, not the other way around…

  • Israeli settler accused of killing Palestinian involved in Oscar-winning #WestBank film (BBC, 2025-07-29)

    https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c776x78517po———(BBC spells “Odeh Hathaleen”)

Mattan Berner-Kadish, an Israeli-American activist at the scene, told the BBC that … on Monday, a bulldozer from a nearby Israeli settlement was driven through private Palestinian land, crushing a sewage pipe, multiple olive trees and two fences.

Berner-Kadish and other activists, including [Odeh] Hathaleen's cousin Ahmad, ran to block the bulldozer. … the driver hit Ahmad in the neck and shoulder with a drill …

While attending to Ahmad's injuries, Berner-Kadish heard a pop. Running back …, he saw Hathaleen lying bleeding from a gunshot wound and Levy, the only settler he saw, holding a gun.

In a video …, a man identified as Levy is seen holding a pistol with a bulldozer behind him, ... Levy pushes at one man, who pushes back. Levy then raises his pistol and shoots ahead of him …

  • Just 23% of Americans say Israeli military actions in Gaza are fully justified, CNN poll finds (CNN, 2025-07-18)

    https://www.cnn.com/2025/07/18/politics/cnn-poll-israel-support-----Source:https://embed.documentcloud.org/documents/26001886-cnn-poll-conducted-by-ssrs/

Americans are increasingly skeptical of Israeli actions in Gaza, according to a new CNN #poll conducted by SSRS [July 10-13] that also finds rising sentiment that the US should pull back on military aid to Israel.

Only 23% of Americans say Israel’s actions have been fully justified, a 27-point drop from a October 2023 poll taken shortly after Hamas’ October 7 attacks... [see the table attached]

Younger adults across parties express the most skepticism towards Israel. Just 1 in 10 adults under 35 say that Israel’s military actions in Gaza have been fully justified ... Younger adults are also most likely to say that Israel has used too much military force (61%) and that the US is doing too much to help Israel in its war with Hamas (56%).

  • FAQ: How does the report [Our Genocide] address the Hamas-led attack on 7 October 2023? | B'Tselem

    https://www.btselem.org/publications/202507/_our/_genocide———

… The report addresses the deep trauma experienced by Israelis that day, and the Israeli hostages, some of whom are still being held in Gaza. Our analysis shows how the Israeli government has cynically exploited the trauma experienced by many Israelis and used it to carry out genocide and ethnic cleansing in the Gaza Strip.

One crime does not justify another – certainly not the mass killing of civilians or an attempt to erase and destroy an entire group. There is nothing that can justify genocide, and starvation and destruction have nothing to do with self-defense. The only way to ensure that the horrors of 7 October do not recur is to immediately stop the annihilation, and demand equality, justice, freedom and security for all the people living between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea.
