    On Saturday 12,000 (police estimate) - 50,000 (organizer's) citizens took to the streets in #Berlin against the hunger blockade in Gaza and #Germany's #complicity in genocide.

    Colorado GOP Congressman Gabe Evans introduced a non-binding resolution on Friday that labels ‘Free Palestine’ as “an antisemitic slogan.” The bill seeks to limit immigration of people who oppose Israel’s illegal occupation of Palestine and Tel Aviv’s genocidal onslaught in the besieged Gaza Strip. The bill is expected to be voted on some time next week.

    The bill reads, “Whereas, while shouting ‘Free Palestine,’ an antisemitic slogan that calls for the destruction of the state of Israel and Jewish people, Mohammed Sabry Soliman attacked the peaceful demonstrators with homemade Molotov cocktails.”

    French President Emmanuel Macron announced Friday that the upcoming UN conference on a two-state solution, originally scheduled for next week in New York, has been postponed due to security and logistical concerns [Israeli attacks on Iran caused].

    "While we have to postpone this conference for logistical and security reasons, it will take place as soon as possible," Macron said during a press conference. Earlier this month, he had expressed hopes that the summit would help advance efforts toward officially recognizing a Palestinian state.

    Naval blockades are not automatically illegal. … a blockade may be used in wartime, but only if five legal conditions are met:

    • it must be formally declared and publicly notified• it must be effectively enforced in practice• it must be applied impartially to all ships• it must not block access to neutral ports or coastlines• it must not stop the delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians.

    If even one of these conditions is not met, the blockade may be considered illegal under customary international humanitarian law.

    The individuals rescued had fled violence and persecution in Sudan, only to face further violence, detention, and torture in Libya. They must be brought to a safe country where they can seek asylum—a country that upholds its international obligations, including the principle of non-refoulement.

    Rima Hassan, a Member of the European Parliament aboard the Madleen stated: “We denounce the European Union’s role in obstructing the movement of asylum seekers, in clear violation of international law—an approach that has led to the deaths of tens of thousands and turned the Mediterranean into a graveyard.”

    The crew of the Madleen is in communication with Search and Rescue NGOs, who are advising and assisting them, while calling on the Greek, Italian, and Maltese authorities to urgently fulfill their legal obligation to organize a safe rescue and transshipment of the refugees on board to safety in Europe.

    ... Concern mounted that they would forcibly return the refugees to Libya, in violation of international law. The Madleen‘s crew warned them not to do so, but the Libyan authorities did not respond.

    To avoid being taken by the Libyan authorities, four people jumped into the sea and began desperately swimming towards the Madleen. The crew then issued a mayday for itself, calling for urgent assistance, but other vessels remained too far away. The Madleen’s crew rescued the four from the water.

    Under international law, the principle of non-refoulement prohibits returning anyone to a country—whether or not it is their country of origin—if they would face a real risk to their life, freedom, or personal safety there. The crew has a moral and legal duty to protect those rescued at sea, especially when they are fleeing grave danger.

    Upon approach, the Madleen‘s crew saw that the boat was rapidly deflating, with approximately 30–40 people on board. Given the time-critical nature of the situation, they launched a rescue Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB). While the rescue effort was underway, another vessel approached at high speed. Initially assuming it to be Egyptian––as they were in the Egyptian search and rescue zone––the crew held back, urging the vessel to assist without carrying out a forcible return to Libya, where refugees face detention, abuse, and torture, or transfer to Egypt, which is also not considered safe for asylum seekers.

    As the vessel drew closer and sounded an alarm, crew members on the Madleen identified it as a Libyan Coast Guard vessel—the Tareq Bin Zayed, known for grave human rights violations and involvement in previous unlawful pullbacks of asylum seekers...

    An Israeli tourist ... was asked to sign a pledge confirming he had not committed war crimes ... when he checked into the Guesthouse Wind Villa on 17th April 2025, in Kyoto, Japan.

    Hotel manager Ace Kishi confirmed that the pledge is “optional,” adding, “So far, no guest has refused to fill out the pledge, and there have been no instances of refusing accommodation.”

    The tourist later contacted the Israeli embassy and its ambassador wrote to the hotel complaining of discrimination “based solely on nationality,”...

    Kishi responded to the ambassador, confirming the pledge did not single out Israelis, but was given to tourists from Russia, Ethiopia, Syria and ... other countries involved in “military or paramilitary organisations in the last 10 years,” ...

    Due to its stance, the hotel received threats from Zionists, including hostile messages...
