  • just finished it. this could be recency bias talking but it may be the best marvel show yet (not that it’s a high bar). as the article says it’s a much different vibe than any other marvel show, it’s much more focused on the characters rather than superhero action.

  • yeah i agree about the shit scene. I'm not opposed to poop jokes by any means, but this one didn’t land for me. I get the intent to set the vibe early and break from GoT (the cut away from the GoT theme song was a nice editing choice), but without setup it just felt abrupt instead of subversive. The “execution” of it was also a bit too cartoony compared to the rest of the episode.

    Anyway, I also enjoyed the rest of the episode.

  • my point is what we "should be" excited about is being released from monotonous work in exchange for universal basic income, so we wouldn't feel the need to be reduced to servants. obviously that isn't going to happen, but that's the utopian dream.
