  • Also, it sounded like the deal was Rivian licensed their tech to VW. For VW to then use in their own cars.

So yeah no surprise Rivian is not planning to coordinate further. The deal was VW buying the rights to catch up to where Rivian already is.

  • I just noticed other articles about California and Michigan. They also used Newsome and Whitmer as the image. But then another for Georgia did not use Kemp as the image.

  • What a weird choice to have an image of Pritzker for this article.

  • Some of both.

Great talk I skipped to an important part of which will likely explain better than I am. Whole video is worth watching if you have time. https://youtu.be/deYUUfak08Y?feature=shared&t=7m54s

But in essence, leadership will say they care about DEI. But then doesn't set any goals or timeframes. Then what I've seen a few times is the responsibility for the initiatives get pushed to lower level people who have no authority to bring about much of any change. Leadership gets to pat themselves on the back while doing nothing.

  • Most of the programs exist to avoid lawsuits. They don't actually help much of anything. And before people jump down my throat I'm not against the idea of what DEI claims to fix in corporate America. I just know from the level I've worked at multiple companies that leadership doesn't really care. DEI is another box to check for the shareholders to feel good about themselves.

So tl;dr DEI is mostly pointless. Leadership allows people to talk about DEI because talk is cheap and ineffectual. But they shit their pants of we try to unionize and force change. So stop focusing on DEI and start focusing on unionization.

  • What a cluster fuck. God damn boomer MBAs.

  • This is changing things. Vertical integration of a key supplier isn't necessarily a bad thing.

And this is sort of like if GM woke up one day and decided to buy back Allison Transmission. Sprit was part of Boeing. It got sold off by bad leadership. Sprit never landed many other contracts past Boeing. Boeing is now buying them back to reintegrate a piece of old Boeing leadership never should have sold.

  • They're especially loud here because Lemmy's developers are tankies. Some are even supposedly former Chapo Trap House peeps that got kicked off reddit. It's the most annoying part of this place trying to be a reddit replacement. But it's getting better with users calling them out.

  • It was a few years into them being pissed at the audacity of a black man becoming President.

  • They do actually. CNN was bought by open Trump supporters back in 2022. It's been stated a few times they want CNN to become another Fox News.

  • Right before the war started the now largest known lithium deposit in Europe (and somewhere top 10 worldwide) was found in eastern Ukraine.

  • Yeah the amount of Finding Out possible from this decision has high schadenfreude potential.

  • It's not that weird given that account is one of the idiotic "bOtH siDeS" posters.

  • Depends on how much subsidization they're getting

  • That's how security clearance works bro

  • He could not have gained access from his position to the data compiled. His story on how he did doesn't add up to anyone with security clearance. The real way it was accomplished isn't going to be divulged either. The NSA isn't going to publicly explain whatever avenue was found.

  • Good luck. I'm with you. It's annoying how retarded most of Lemmy has decided to be about this story based off headlines.
