  • Shhhhh, we can't let facts get in the way of their imagination based pearl clutching.

  • "THERE WILL BE NO REMATCH," Trump said on his Truth Social platform. "SO THERE IS NOTHING TO DEBATE."

Trotting out the classics, huh? Big "If we did less testing, we'd have less COVID cases" energy.

Trump said it was very late in the process now to have a debate.

The second Presidential Debate in 2020 took place on Oct. 22nd. This invitation from Fox News is for Oct. 24th or 27th. And the original CNN debate was scheduled for Oct. 23rd so fuck right off with that excuse, coward.

  • Voting against the fascist candidate abso-fucking-lutely prevents fascism. This is an extremely simple concept that one would imagine the founder of the second-largest tech union in North America should be able to wrap their mind around.

  • It’s likely to just be some randos doing it for the lulz and IA was vulnerable for whatever reason. Book publishers have sadly been enjoying plenty of success in court against IA. They don’t need to get their hands dirty.

  • Yeah, I've see people speculating that it could be some corporate hit-job on behalf of book publishers, and I get it, that exotic possibility is attractive, but reality is usually much more mundane. It's likely to just be some randos doing it for the lulz and IA was vulnerable for whatever reason. Book publishers have sadly been enjoying plenty of success in court against IA. They don't need to get their hands dirty.

  • Cool, now which is easier to build movements under, a fascist regime, or a moderate milquetoast capitalist regime?

Let's be real here, the kind of person ranting on the internet about "ThE DuOpOlY" is not actually interested in building anything at all. They just like to stomp their feet, and shout "no fair!" over and over again like the petculant children they are, while the grownups are busy trying to prevent the country from descending into fascism.

  • Maybe it was a Choice.

Correct, it's deliberate. The Nobel Prize ceremony is not the Oscars. The Nobel Foundation puts their money toward the winners, not glitz and glam.

  • Yes. Is this your first time looking into how the Nobel Prize tends to be awarded?

Gee, I wonder what could’ve possibly happened between 1993 and 2024 that caused a massive surge in messenger RNA vaccine research and development which in turn renewed interest in micro rna alternatives making its pioneers important scientific figures…. 🤔

  • "I have a son. He's 10 years old. He has computers. He is so good with these computers, it's unbelievable. The security aspect of cyber is very, very tough. And maybe it's hardly do-able. But I will say, we are not doing the job we should be doing."

  • State-owned news outlet Gazeta(dot)ru reported that the Ukrainian-linked hacker group “sudo rm -RF” was behind the attack.

    HACK THE PLANET RUSSIANS

    Edit: Removed direct link.

  • I watch something every day, but I balance things out by including mini-marathons of Halloween tv specials, like The Simpsons, South Park, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, etc. Halloween themed comedies are a great way to keep from burning out.

  • blue MAGA

    Not a thing. Now shoo.

  • Too little too late. Fuck the New York Times and their sane-washing of Trump.

Behind The Bastards did an interesting two part episode covering the role that the media played in Italy, Germany and the U.S. which contributed to the rise of fascism throughout Europe during the 1920s and 1930s. Basically, their attempts to maintain neutrality only served to legitimize extremist rhetoric and present fascists as reasonable folks who just had different, but equally valid, ideas. So The New York Times is just perpetuating the status quo here by sane-washing Trump and legitimizing the extremist goals of the MAGA movement. At some point everyone has to take a side, and many media outlets, including the NYT, have a lengthy track record of choosing to align themselves with the right side of history only after the dust has settled.

If anyone would like to check out the episodes I'm talking about, here's the YouTube version:

    Part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=URABscYOjRE

    Part 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MW7FCJG9NjQ

Edit: Anyone suggesting the media should not reject fascism in the name of some misguided sense of objectivity will be ignored. I don’t debate the merits of legitimizing fascist movements.

  • “Your honor these companies won’t give me money despite the fact that I want it!”

Did you ask them politely and provide a service worth advertising on?

“I told them to go fuck themselves and banned everyone that was mean to the neo-nazis.”

    ???

  • This is absolute hogwash. Actual centrists bring up some Republican talking points (at least, the valid ones) when talking to a Democrat, because democrats don’t seem to understand them.

Surprise surprise, Republicans think centrists bring up Democratic talking points.

lmao even as you attempt to deny that centrists only spout republican talking points and take cheap shots at democrats you couldn't help but imply that democrats are too dumb to understand the other side's position while holding a neutral tone toward republicans in the very next sentence. Centrists can't even hide their disingenuous nonsense when they're trying to pass themselves off as the real victims. So just knock it off and climb down off your cross. Nobody's buying it.

  • While it’s great news that someone’s finally going to prison I can’t help but feel that 9 years out of the 20 that the prosecution were seeking is still a slap on the wrist. At 68 this may still prove to be a life sentence but I’d feel a lot better if she had received the max and removed all doubt. If anyone deserves it, it’s this woman, the judge even recognized she has no remorse for her crimes and would do it again if she had the chance.

These weak sentences are only going to embolden the republicans organizing the next attempt to steal the elections. And that one is mere weeks away.

  • That looks like a great spread.
