  • I'm no fan, but I imagine that there is an Elvis album on this list. Possibly Jerry Lee Lewis, too.

  • Xaphan is in one of those old catalogs of demons. I added the os to make it sound more like a name.

  • Thank you for this. I hope the rest of humanity sees it your way when this is over.

  • A true classic.

  • Once I was asked to troubleshoot problems with a screen share app. Turned out that the far-side was in Gurgaon. The packets were routed bia 2 geosync sats. One second up, one second over, one second down. 3 second latency.

  • All without explaining heat radiation, total power budget, physical maintenance, etc.

  • Burn it all to the ground.

  • I am not "against" AI. I am against unfettered capitalism and how it is poisoning humanity. AI can hold the same kind of promise that Internet v1 had before the first eternal September. But because of the "success" of the capitalization of the web, folks are flocking to AI on the assumption that something similar will happen to it. I see it as a gold rush. Some boom towns may happen along the way. Some may endure. But it's still very early to know that.

  • Decent metric.

Yes my life is astronomically better. I am not an anxious basket case like my mom. Nor an unmitigated narcissist like my father. My friends and family truly like me. I own my house in my own name along with my wife. I have no mortal enemies at all.

  • By what metrics? Savings? Mean annual income? Lifestyle? Peace of mind? Spousal trust? Family relationship quality and/or quantity? Leisure time? Mental and/or physical health? Respect of others? Number of mortal enemies?

  • I would prefer establishing a non capitalistic society and letting them keep all of their money - and nothing else. Let them eat cash.

  • Uhm. This is several months old. It was signed in September.

  • Don't forget Neuromancer.

  • Most of the tracks on "...And Then There Were Three..." by Genesis. Kept me alive through my darkest days of highschool.

  • Y'all are gonna love https://reflekta.ai/

  • I have a QNAP. Free dvr software. I buy cheap rtsp-capable cameras and roll my own.

  • This is also true where I work. We're super happy to build what we are charging our customers for.
