Try searching "Bharat Bandh" - I'm doing that now but the only mainstream Indian sources I'm finding are day-of articles about how traffic will be affected and whether schools will be open. Can't find a major article about the arrests in Bengaluru or anything.

Edit - Like, why does thewire.in have a pre-strike article, but nothing about the day of?

I agree with you conceptually but the workers and organizers called it a strike, so it's not a mislabeling by the Ukraine-flag poster. The unions in India call one-day general strikes like this all the time.

A tragic anti-hero, yes, and thus the most Athenian out of anyone, but every time I go back to the sources I find him worse and worse. I read a fun paper a while back that pointed out that all of his claims to fame were almost winning something. With the exception, I suppose, of the Olympic chariot teams he sponsored, and even there he hedged his bets by entering seven teams.

Plus he has all sorts of domestic violence anecdotes and stories like "Alcibiades once went into a bookshop and asked for some Homer. The bookseller said he was all out of Homer. At this Alcibiades wittily punched him in the face."

Yeah! Each chapter is an account from a different organizing campaign, so there are many antagonists and many different strategies described.

I found my notes - it's the Sacramento chapter that talks about Local Revenue Bonds. The saga culminates in this doomer paragraph: “With no opportunity for public comment during the meeting, the motion passed unanimously, entering the county into a contract with the architecture firm Nacht & Lewis to begin designing the project. This architectural contract would later become a primary tool used by county staff to justify the project even after the board voted against it.”
