  • I think 70% of the recent posts seem onion-y or would be if it were claiming any other person except a handful of people who regularly say things that I'd have assumed were the Onion pre-Trump.

The Onion has generally been political, with a bias towards US politics, and Not the Onion is for news... so the posts should generally be political news mixed with some lighthearted nonsense news.

Also, one of the less oniony stories is one I upvoted without realizing where it was posted just because it seemed funny and it was one of the non-political news stories.

  • I sometimes just need to mute something for a second that I'm otherwise listening to. Or I'm switching between multiple sources, and don't want like 3 or more playing at the same time.. usually all on the same domain. I don't want to have to actually go to the tab and mute it. I'm frequently muting and unmuting things that way to the point that even if its the only source of sound, I still mute by tab instead of just turning my computer volume off sometimes out of habit, so its a deal breaker.

I think this just says more about the perils of embracing untreated ADHD than the internet itself.

  • Tab groups and non-independent tab muting (seems like it was domain-specific rather than tab-specific last I tried) are the two main things that kept me from switching back to FF as my primary browser (still use it for DTA, for example, but DTA got a big nerf back during the major extension overhaul, so that was a letdown). Tried some extensions, but none really worked in a way I considered usable and didn't want to just keep trial and erroring through them given I already have a browser that functionally meets my needs, even if I'd rather not be using a chromium browser.

If native tab groups work well enough, I'll probably give it another chance.

  • Solo 401ks are where you're the employer (guess technically there's some wiggle room for others to be in your 401k, but from the perspective of such a person, wouldn't it just be a normal 401k?). So you have to report it yourself. The brokerage firm holding it won't.

  • They know what you owe so long as you didn’t have expenses to apply for that they couldn’t assume or know about

Solo 401ks/IRA also wouldn't be something they know about until you file if I understand correctly. Guess you could that expenses?

  • Probably mostly Biden fans upset that someone probably doesn't want to vote for Biden for having policies that they don't want.

The same people probably think the comment they're downvoting is saying "bOTh paRties aRe thE saME" because reading is hard I guess.

  • Kbin doesn't federate downvotes, only upvotes. So it makes it look like almost no one downvotes.

  • Don't worry, I'm probably not looking at your face anyways.

  • If you click "more" and then "activity", its listed in the "reduces" tab. Kbin only includes kbin downvotes though, which is why downvotes look so rare on kbin.

  • Sometimes people miss-tap while scrolling. Also, on kbin at least, you can who downvote things if they're on kbin. I think if you run your own instance, as an admin you can see who as well?

  • If its just regurgitating reddit, "homocidal thoughts" shows up in many comments about homicidal thoughts. Still hope its just a edit for the meme.

  • Wish we would stop using fonts don't think make a clear differences between I and l.

  • Atop that, there’s a difference between the silver and black cleats. The silver ones unclip if you simply pull in any direction except up, while the black ones only unclip by twisting. ... To say they are universally an “easy-unclip” clipless system is simply untrue, and someone who gets the black cleats will NOT have that experience.

Broke my shoulder from not being able to unclip (black SPDs) while still relatively new to clips and then panicking and stiff-arming the landing last moment and was wondering what Paragone was talking about. Thanks for explanation! Had no clue there was a difference.

  • Is this part of Hades 2?

  • At least we get other domesticated Caniformia (the "dog-like" suborder), just no domesticated Ursidae (bear family) specifically.

  • Next month is my desktops CPU model's 10th birthmonth. Still my default computer.

  • Overall since November, its been trending upwards. Given the big spike in March, I think its only natural some people realize they didn't want to be here in the couple months that follow.

Also there's bit of a controversial topic lately that has made a certain demographic feel like this place is about as unwelcoming to them as much of the internet.

  • Not funny! 100's of thousands of people are currently in the dark because a thunderstorm came through 4 days ago!. JK. Maybe if enough people make fun of the joke of an electrical grid Texas has, it'll be improved.

  • I'm in Texas, not that far from the coast, and I make these kinds of jokes. I don't move because this is where my immediate family live and I don't want to leave without them. Texans are a great group to make the butt of the jokes. Doesn't mean I think I should be drowned or assume I'm a red-hat maga person.
