  • Which one beat it in the Atlantic? Next I see is Dennis, which was around July 8th 2005. Then August 3rd in 1970. Pacific season starts earlier I think, so it beats it easily (May 25/26th in 2014 it looks like)

  • Hurricane Beryl continues to defy all known logic, now becoming the first June Category 4 hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic Basin. I can't even stress enough just how completely absurd that storm is.

But that just means we have room for new records, like first cat 5 storm in June! We wouldn't want to stop making WRs, right? /s

  • You technically only need it on one device if you don't want to be able to copy/paste or use the autotype feature. Which works fine until you lose or break that one device or upgrade to a new one and forgot you needed to transfer your passwords or delete your database because you didn't remember what it was and wanted to free up space.

And Bitwarden has scary things like "self-hosting".

  • How could you be simpler than keepass? Like, there's more advanced features, but for basic function, its just a password to access a list of passwords.

  • That's one potential ending. The other is making people homeless than then making being homeless illegal and using that as a threat against the remaining people...

  • On one hand, I think some data is better than no data, so I think its fair to say that there is a lack of evidence for it being better in terms of in-game performance after setup based on it and that should just be the null assumption anyways.

On the other hand, its been over a decade since its been pretty well known that average FPS is not necessarily reflective of overall performance and throwing the frametime data into a spreadsheet and doing =percentile([range],.99) and =percentile([range],.999) and then dragging it to neighboring cells seems like a pretty minimal extra work for a commercialized channel. For niche testing like this, I'm less bothered by it because having some results seems better than nothing, but its still nice to see it pointed out.

  • If they're just doing it because their boss tells them to, why wouldn't they admit to it in an anonymous survey?

  • 79F/26C is a pretty reasonable day-time temperature...

  • Forgot the pre-meeting dip of preparing for meeting or being in waiting-mode.

  • If your desk is only 3/4ths of a chain long, how will you fit more than one computer?

  • On linux it’s one pip install and you’re done

Isn't that how packages/dependencies work on windows as well? Once I got pip updated, I've never had any issues with it.

  • And you don't need to re:build green spaces to decarify. But you probably should.

  • But what leggings were they?

  • Reminds me of an episode of Digimon where Joe (I think) says something like "I don't like eating on an empty stomach." But I think that was supposed to be an obviously bad excuse for not eating something he didn't want to try rather than serious statement, but I was never certain...

  • My current phone is almost 3.5 years old and I have no intention on upgrading anytime soon, but in the past I did tend to have to replace a phone about every two years. Mostly because POGO (and my being rough with them). Ports being damaged (and me not knowing how to repair them myself and others wanting to charge the cost of a new phone to repair it), being dropped, etc.

  • Mint broke all the time for me last time i tried using it. After reinstalling it for like the 8th time, I just decided to take a break from Linux. This was like 6 years ago though.

  • Depends if they're on the coast or not.

  • Wanting people to not die of heat stroke and trying to spread some price of information aren't exactly the same thing, even if the former leads to the latter.

Still, propaganda usually is reserved for pushing some sort of broader doctrine or political goals, not just trying to get information to people about protecting themselves.

Also propaganda can be good... I'd say a lot of political memes are technically propaganda. Doesn't mean they're necessary being deceitful or misleading and can be used as a positive force for spreading anti-ruling class information. Granted, clearly the other personal clearly meant it negatively. Weird that sharing basic medical advice has become politically charged...

    • Oops, I forgot _______ again

-it'll only take like 15 minutes (don't trust me: it'll either be 3 minutes or 1 hour).
