  • Sorry, but savory jellos are just not something I have any interest in. Jello with hard-boiled eggs are a hard "no" for me.

  • This is some peak 1950s American stuff right here!

  • The article addresses this. The legislation addresses it in even more detail.

  • The first three years are just for the department of health to research the problem and develop standards based on available and newly funded research. The next seven years would likely see schools phasing out problematic foods one by one as they find appropriate alternatives and end contracts.

Keep in mind that processed foods tend to be cheaper, too, so trying to maintain the same cost while replacing the processed foods will take time and effort.

  • I'm going with he's waiting for the midterms to be over.

  • The Daily Beast is garbage and should be banned. They write a story to fit their narrative, then toss in a grain of truth. I am pretty left and even I don't want to read their crap.

  • Removing doubt will defuse so many future arguments. I definitely see how being asked for a paternity test could hurt but it's a temporary hurt. Uncertainty could cause long-term hurt and damage any chance of relationships developing in a positive way.

  • While pettiness sounds awesome here, I'd argue against it. She may need to deal with these people for 18 years or more, depending on how the situation proceeds. Being petty now could lead to long-term animosity that is unneeded.

I say give them the paternity test, see how they react, then get petty if they continue being shitty.

  • I agree with you on the stainless. I do still have one cast iron pan that I swear by for certain things but I also don't baby it in any way. I also have a couple of ceramic coated pans for specific things that love to stick to stainless. I mostly use the stainless and the cast iron, though.

  • Yeah, unfortunately I recognize that... The difference, not that it really makes one in the current climate, is that one side would have actually broken a long-standing law while the other would not. Hopefully if that cycle is repeated enough people would see who the liars are.

    It probably doesn't matter, though...

  • and

If we ever get another administration, they should clean house to remove those who ignored their oaths. Federal employees have sworn not to violate the Hatch Act and should be prosecuted to remove the infection from our government. As a former federal employee, I do not appreciate these roles becoming political in any way.

  • And, unfortunately, this particular media outlet has a habit of it, too. I take what Daily Beast says with a big dose of skepticism until shown otherwise.

    This headline seems reasonable, though.

  • I was so hopeful until reading your comment... I should have known that no Democrat would have this strong a spine.

  • Unfortunately, I think the parts they care about would continue as "essential" while the parts everyone else cares about would shut down.

  • That's a super smart strategy. It reduces the amount of thinking required and speeds up your ability to answer.

  • If it's true that Trump is being lied to by his advisors in order to get him to act the way they want, that means there is a huge weakness in the scheme. If someone could show him definitively that his advisors are lying, it could cause him to turn on some of them.

Maybe he's being fed false information. Given how critical this all is, I could see them commissioning entire fake newscasts to show him. Hell, they could probably just show him AI newscasts given how good he is at identifying fake images.

  • We always leave the door open. The amount of mold has gotten awful at times and I even live in a pretty arid climate. I never had this issue with top loaders.

  • Thanks! I've been frustrated by my LG and won't buy one again. I've disassembled it twice to clean out mold. I think I'll try Bosch next time. I love my Bosch dishwasher.

  • Huh, what brand? Having a smart one didn't bother me so long as it didn't require a connection, so maybe I didn't look THAT hard.
