I thought 2025 was supposed to be "the moment" for AI PCs. Dell and other manufacturers were sure as hell spamming the shit out of that premise in their incessant online ads. But then it all fell through because of the sagging economy on Main Street, and the fact that many people didn't like AI being forced down they're proverbial throats. So yeah, 2026 won't be any better for this ill-thought out marketing strategy.
Allut's deathbed confession forms the bulk of the French police records of the case [about Picaud]. The detailed description of Picaud's experiences in prison, which could not have been known to Allut, were supposedly dictated to him by the ghost of Father Torri.
Hmm, all sounds pretty sketchy. More like a screenplay itself than solid, verifiable facts.
Sounds like you're talking about an old-school encyclopedia book collection. Like Encyclopedia Britannica. They take up a lot of physical space and sing if the information becomes outdated quickly. But they are a great source for history, geography, science, etc. And you might be able to find them second-hand from an online seller for a relatively reasonable price.
And a fairly significant number of people (across the political spectrum) will lap this up and assume he's telling the truth. Despite the fact that so many other promises have fallen through.
That's where the 'release government files about extraterrestrials' comes in. But that's small fries. He'll need to go a lot bigger than that with the distractions.
Oh for sure. Indoctrination plays a huge part. My wife is a good example of that. She was raised to be critical of feminism and was always told a woman's place was in the home serving her husband. But she broke out of that mindset. (She saya I played a big part of that, but I think I only played a very minor role and by far the biggest factor was her critical thinking and intelligence.)
But it reaches a point where there's a sense of willful ignorance - where people have to go out of their way via sustained mental gymnastics to avoid putting two and two together. And that's when it gets frustrating.
Hopefully this lady can wake up and break free of her psychological prison. Because right now she apparently couldn't see the point if it got inches from her face.
Yeah, I had the same thought after seeing how the DJIA reacted. A small number of people are going to make a nice bit of money from this. I wonder who. 🤔
Four-year-old Konstantin wanted to be reunited with his favorite stuffed animal, Stitch from the Disney movie “Lilo & Stitch,” which had been confiscated when officers detained them.
Poor kid! They wouldn't even let him keep his plushie while he was locked in a giving concentration camp! I'm glad he and the rest of his family are heading back to something more like a normal life. Hopefully they can keep it that way and get over this trauma. But sadly, I'm not holding my breath about that.
I was talking in more general terms. Most of the time people don't want to open their mind to a different perspective. That's awesome that OP's friend is bucking that trend!
Who's giving what to boomers now?
