  • If you have to ask for advice for having a child don’t. Don’t bring a child into this world unless you are 100% all in regardless of what others (besides your partner of course) say.

    The child has no say in being born, so the parents should be 100% ready for it. Anything less isn’t fair to him or her.

  • Lemmy is pretty anti-AI. Or at least the communities I follow are. I haven’t seen anyone blame the kid or the parents near as much as people rightfully attributing it to OpenAI or ChatGPT. edit- that is until I scrolled down on this thread. Depressing

    When someone encourages a person to suicide, they are rightfully reviled. The same should be true of AI

  • The dichotomy between the left and right on these kind of issues are probably more economic than anything else.

    The people I know that freaked out about these sort of things were typically maga types. Lower income, lower education, and relied on social media for all kinds of news, human contact, and such.

    Meanwhile most liberals and conservatives that didn’t, lived more comfortably with higher career and education levels. This isn’t even really a left wing vs right wing kind of thing. Even the conservatives I knew that had higher education and career accomplishment freaked less out about Covid and social media “censorship” too because they could just do without.

    If you can live comfortably and it doesn’t affect your living, you tend to not rock the boat

  • Greed (personal enrichment) is typically a reason a lot of religious leaders push hate so getting rid of greed gets rid of some (but not close to all) religious extremism.

    That seems like the best choice as getting rid of religious extremism gets rid of some hate but still leaves us in the same greedy society

  • I was actually able to run it on a couple different users and it was very in-depth. On your username in particular it showed this thread so they must be searching the web for the username. It could be that newer models are searching more instances than they were before as well.

    There are a million prank videos on YouTube, it’s probably be more productive looking there for advice than here.

  • I don’t think it’s really taken off in just the last week. Or at least I haven’t noticed it being used more frequently than ever.

    You know, where you notice something, and start seeing it everywhere. It hasn’t actually changed in frequency, you just are noticing it more frequently now.

    This happened to me recently after noticing an obviously AI generated text that mentioned the phrase “masterclass” and then all of a sudden every YouTube game review or video essay or blog post were using it too and it was driving me nuts. Now obviously it was those sources that the AI was trained on that made it use masterclass so often, but I’ve been turned off by the phrase so much that I will forever avoid it in my own writing from now on.
