  • Live music performances often fill that void for me. It doesn't have to be a fancy orchestra or expensive venue, my town hosts free live music once a week. The music is nice because it gives you the opportunity to zone out and be introspective while surrounded by others. There is also usually a social scene before and after the set.

  • He has a lot of videos focused on home appliances. Some that come to mind are toasters, dishwashers, heat pumps, and an entire series on Christmas lights. Breaks everything down with lots of tips for better home use (because no one reads the manuals on thise things).

  • How many kids had to die in school shootings in order to protect these 2A rights? But a holstered weapon is suddenly a threat to 6 men armed to the teeth and wearing body armor.

  • I just keep watching these videos and thinking about how insane it is that a life was taken so quickly. I know that is the nature of the world, and things can change in an instant. But it seems so surreal to watch.

Renee Good was smiling at a man and deescalating a situation, that was the last thing she knew before a bullet. Now Alex Pretti was defending a woman from being shoved to the ground and before that woman could even steady herself again he was beaten and killed.

Fuck, it's so pathetic that these losers have that kind of power over life. Trump, Noem, and Bovino (and every other rat bastard in the administration) have given the unhinged bullies a license to kill. I look forward to the day that these assholes hang for their crimes. Tell the people you care about that you love them.

  • Aside from the horrible implications of this letter. Can we address his writing style? For a man who was educated at the insitutions he attended, he sure doesn't show it. I know we are accustomed to reading his tweets, but Jesus Christ this is embarassing.

It appears he is just dictating letters to heads of state and not even having anyone give it a once over before slapping it on the white house letterhead and sending it.

These are the meandering thoughts of a lunatic.

  • I thought I was going insane. I have been losing files frequently, but have a detailed file tree and I'm diligent about naming and saving versions.

  • Not enough of them were punished. And so, history will repeat itself.

  • That evil hag.

  • Agreed wholeheartedly. Burn him at the fucking stake in the middle of town square.

  • We need to bring back public executions for men like this. What the actual fuck.

  • Imagining Donald and Melania attempting to kill one another while singing about how much the love each other is hilarious.

With all the bad news, at least we can laugh at the fact that these rich assholes absolutely despise one another.

  • Political Memes @lemmy.world

Can't unsee Kristi Noem as the Child Catcher

  • Even if they do get rid of him, won't he be a vulnerability for years to come? Because of the position he was given, certainly not earned, he is privy to not only the details of current military strikes but also secret goals for future military projects. Right? I assume most people who have these jobs have a modicum of self-respect and patriotic duty. But couldn't he just leak that important info to anyone even after he is fired?

  • "Can't meet you guys at the bar for drinks we are about to bomb Yemen. Don't wait up, my boy JD and I are going to get blackout drunk and try to drift a motorcade vehicle around the lincoln memorial." Or something to that effect.

  • From a man who was notorious for not paying his contractors on NYC properties?

  • Project scheduling programs. Primavera, Microsoft Project, Asta Powerproject. All of them are uniquely awful in their own way, and yet I still have to pay for them in order to work in my field.

  • I really like her delivery. I tend to get heated about these things, and I think that kind of tone turns people off when talking about the injustice in stunts like this. Her level headed statements really drive the point home. And I want to be more like that because articulating why this isn't inspiring is important. Science communication is becoming so popular these days, but a lot of people are just trying to capitalize on the trend and not actually care about the science.

  • Punchable faces (aside from the child of course)

  • My phones autocorrect has been garbage recently. I feel like a few years ago, it was much better at predicting what I meant to type, and I could easily edit on mobile using the suggested corrections. But now it is worse. Even with words or names I use all the time.

  • Yes! Absolutely this.
