  • That's a very hard question to answer because each state runs elections differently. In my state we just get our ballot by mail and you send that in with your signature. If you don't have an address there are polling places available, but it's been so long I'm not certain how they check ID.

  • Even if electricity costs doubled, it would still only cost me 20 bucks a month to run my EV.

  • Very ironic typo there

  • Do those hobbies include spending a lot of time in nature outdoors? An activity that has also been shown greatly improves mental health?

  • Well, I think he cares about just 1.

  • And I don't think we have missiles in our arsenal that are bad enough that they would miss a target by 60m. Maybe I'm wrong about that though.

  • Or they are just doing this for optics, with an understanding that the feds will end up forcing their hand in the future.

  • Yes. I do mean to tell you all those things.

  • Because I've never uploaded my face or a picture or my ID before? They don't just magically pull that from the ether.

  • Yes, why would they care?

  • That is still very different than giving them access to my facial data or government id

  • It's been well documented that with modern cars you can hack them and disable brakes, increase acceleration etc. I'm not claiming that 100% happened here, but it would be foolish to deny that parts of the government wouldn't know how to do these things.

  • I also wish I could just tell my ISP " I don't have kids and have never once had anyone younger than 18 even connect to my wifi" and then they could just mark it to bypass these age checks.

  • Because what way could be more convenient while you are wearing 4 layers and gloves than pulling out your tiny phone and using its touchscreen?

  • Yea the issue with algorithms is that they don't adapt to your viewing habits, they instead try to adapt your viewing to known "rabbit holes" that have massive engagement. Conspiracy content is one of the biggest ones on there and thus a ton of people get pushed conspiracy videos constantly. Thankfully there is also a large (but not nearly as large) anti-conspiracy community that is debunking a lot of stuff constantly, and calling out how stupid this stuff is.

  • I would be very surprised if it was that far away to be honest. They estimate there are likely trillions of planets in our own galaxy now. For us to be the only one would be absurdly unlikely.

  • As far as the history of the universe is concerned we are actually super early on in its lifespan. So in some ways it's actually more likely that we will be one of the early civilizations that perish before the others show up.

  • Me and my friends use it to stream our gameplay or watch movies and stuff together. Nothing else I've seen really allows you to do that easily.

  • Searching medical records for people with diagnosed autism I assume.
