Senior Chief Petty Officer. Starfleet is in my blood, and I've spent my entire adult life in service to boldly going.

Keiko and Molly are my favorite humans, but Transporter Room 3 will always be my favorite.

Just don't ask who what's in the pattern buffer.

  • I once caused a judge to do that gavel bang "order in the court" thing because I refused to swear in on a Bible and instead insisted on a copy of "The Origin of Species" and a couple of people started talking in the (admittedly nearly empty) courtroom. It wasn't some massive riot where people are calling for me to be tossed in jail, just some whispers that irritated the judge.

    But it counts!

My own mother even commented I should have just used the Bible like everyone else and stop making things about how I don't believe in God, and that my testimony shouldn't have been allowed because it wasnt on a Bible. This was a court hearing involving my sister and her ex, and I was supporting my sister as a witness, and our mother was saying it should be thrown out because it wasn't sworn on the Bible.

I'm sure it's only a matter of time before the federal government tried to make it so you have to swear to trump on a gold copy of his Bible and anything else is either nullified or straight up illegal.

  • I wish my wife could play subnautica with me, as she likes swimming around and stuff but isn't really "good" at video games, since she never played one until adulthood.

In Minecraft it's mostly me doing the work while she does farming stuff. I once came back from a deep mining trip to see a once-empty field filled to the maximum with cows. We had a nice library afterward though.

I still haven't beaten subnautica without cheating or taking shortcuts. Heck when I first downloaded it, it didn't even have an ending yet.

    9.3/10, it's fun

  • Maybe he's dead?

Or more likely it just hasn't been shoved in his face while he watches TV or "plays golf"

    Hopefully that first one though.

  • I know my vehicle's limits, other drivers do not.

The second I stopped to think about that for a second when I got my license, I realized that goes for other people too.

Just because the combination of my vehicle and driving could have gotten through that gap, doesn't mean yours can.

So I'll wait, just please actually go when the light changes and you're 3 car lengths into the intersection...

  • We also didn't need multiple movies with Russians as the bad guys, yet here we are.

  • Look at those soulless, lifeless eyes.

    Black eyes...

    Like a dolls eyes...

  • They were already doing so, and this wouldn't excuse anything Russians have been doing even if Ukraine had bombed the fuck out of the place.

It's definitely a false flag (in my opinion, not actual confirmation by anyone as far as I'm aware), but not a very good one.

  • Well, putin orchestrated apartment bombings decades ago, so this isn't too much of a stretch.

I guess he didn't actually want to damage it though, since locals say nothing happened. You'd think he'd at least set off a grenade in the front lawn to make it more convincing.

  • Doesn’t targeting individuals for political purposes during a war break a bunch of international agreements or at least come close?

I'm not sure. That said, I don't consider "ending a war" to be a political purpose, but if the "rules" of war say you aren't allowed to take out the leadership, then the rules are "only the poor have to die" and fuck that classist bullshit..

And while your enemy being Warcrimes-R-Us doesn't excuse your own war crimes, I think if your enemy is trying to genocide you, then you are within your rights to fight however you need to in order to not be genocided.

  • Supposed to be. But I woke up and decided I didn't want to go in.

Supposedly I'm giving up my holiday pay tomorrow but if I read my hiring packet correctly, their version of "holiday pay" is "well give you an hour of PTO for the day instead of the usual 3 minutes"

  • Genuine question to anyone with an answer: why the FUCK would ANYONE think drone-bombing the ABSOLUTE SHIT out of his residence would be a bad thing?

If anything, this just makes them look even weaker than usual. "we can't keep this small country that we said would fold in 72 hours from making large-scale attacks against our country's leadership" isn't a great look unless you want to look pathetic.

I'm confused as to why they're saying this like it's some kind of "gotcha" moment that the world will somehow turn on them for.

I can only assume it's because they believe Putler is somehow "above" the rest of us and the rest of the world should agree that you don't harm the nobility.

  • Clearly you aren't familiar with the mail carrier's oath.

When society collapses, the human population is at a historic low, and evil warlords stake claim to swathes of wasteland, The Postman can still be seen riding off into the horizon, for nothing will keep them from their assigned route.

  • Hey now those were TERRORIST KIDS looking for TERORIST FOOD because of their TERRORIST STARVATION

See you know they're the bad guys because I called them terrorists.

  • You’d leave in a fucking second if you could.

Not op, but happily. In a heartbeat. Wouldn't even have time to finish the conversation if it were an option.

And yes, they absolutely can be vocally pissed that a privileged old white rich man and his privileged rich kids will get to continue living much better lives due to their riches that allowed them to leave.

It's like people here WANT to be pissed off at everything.

    Lol

  • I'd love to if I could afford it. Neither my wife or I are particularly tied to our families.

  • Honestly, can you be sure you wouldn’t get distracted and forget the next step

This would help me and my wife. We both get distracted and this would remind us to finish the task before doing anything else.

  • That's one thing I really liked about the first John Wick movie. No drawn out revenge torture, just a quick bullet and walk out. No need to take some kind of sick pleasure in it, there's a job to be done.

Now that's not to say I won't enjoy some feel-good thoughts about the whole thing, but I just don't take pleasure in making a death slow and painful.

  • I've got about $100 I can afford to fund this endeavor.
