AFAIK not just google play, but you have to enable unknown apps
Edit: My bad, seems you have to get it from google play or set the installer to google play via shizuku

Tying it to revenue wouldn't work that well due to inflation. Metas AI has a license that basically says that, but with a user number. Both ideas however would mean that the project isn't open source anymore

People don't like ad's, even if it's just you mentioning your thing in a context that makes sense. It's always a slippery slope to reddit, meaning bots that try to sell you something when a post includes a similar keyword. Not to say that's what you are doing

Wasn't Frances problem with GrapheneOS specifically that law enforcement couldn't hack it? I don't think this applies to Peertube. Framasoft has a non profit status in France which Mastodon has a problem maintaning (that's why they keep changing countries), which offers a significant financial benefit.
