  • I have nothing to add, i feel stupid now

  • 4GB here, recently I wanted to try out a local AI and was informed by the popup that 6GB is the bare minimum.

So, it won't be until my next upgrade that I can travel abroad and have image translation on my FOSS phone.

  • Git controlled docker-compose files and backed up docker data volumes.pretty easy to go back to a point in time.

  • What about the case when the devices just dropped wifi when not moving? It was just a shit AP, a cheap linksys e3000 that I used before didn't have the problem.

  • Right right, you woke and boke

  • I've had an overvoltage (I think) burn ports on my switch. Short loss of power during a storm.

It was an adventure to find that problem, and it felt like magic too. My only advice is to diagnose if starlink port 2 is burned (just connect the working network to it and see if it still works) and if not, get a replacement for your 2nd router.

  • Was this a decaf? Coffee is supposed to move you from the couch isn't it

  • I don't believe audiovoodoo but maybe he wants to achieve beamforming, which is a real thing, that's how synthetic aperture radars work, as well as the latest Wi-Fi standards

  • Yeah, noticed that in your post. Consider this my comment on the quality of Mikrotik wireless devices.

  • I had Mikrotik APs, it was terrible, my phone kept losing connection, handover between APs caused long delays, and of course it had the famous Mikrotik UI.

I switched to Ubiquiti and the problems are gone.

I use a Mikrotik wired routers and switches at work and they're fine, no complaints, but if you never interacted with their UI or CLI, watch some tutorial before you buy, because it's not in everyone's taste.

I have OPNSense as a VM and it looks easy enough to use, updates work fine, I never tried pushing it beyond the features it has built in though.

  • Imagine having so much serotonin, it must be like feeling high all the time

  • Last time I checked it was considered uncultured in some savoir vivre guide.

Why did I check such a thing? I was raised without this odd tradition and a long time ago had a girlfriend who was border line offended every time I didn't react to her sneezing. Unfortunately she taught me to say it anyway and it's pretty hard to unlearn again. After more than 2 decades.

  • I have the opposite experience, slzb-06 has been unreliable and I got zbt-2 recently and it's a day and night difference. I had to keep slzb-06 connected to one of these devices that power cycle every 24 hours. It also lost settings more than once. Zbt-2 just works.

  • Your smart home has more computing power than my computer

  • Or they want an effortless-to-eat meal, not having to choose between getting all dirty and spending more time rolling the damn pasta on the fork than eating

  • Go zigbee! I was very hesistant running a second wireless network next to wifi, but it's widely supported and totally cloud-free
