I forget that I’m on the old side and many people probably don’t know the movie. For me, at my age, living in the US, it’s like having previously seen alternate reality these days. SnoopSqueak is right, it’s a silly comedy movie that flopped but “called it” as far as the great dumbing-down of America.
Turns out reality is worse than that.

I had a customer drop off their PC for service and they had the “all-in” setup- everything in Windows signed in, opted in to everything imaginable, including the phone link app.

While I worked on their PC I got copies of every phone notification, as well as the ability to act on those notifications. I saw every SMS his wife sent him. Everything. Just pop-up notifications in my face. Very nearly hit the “activate alarm” button for their home security system multiple times.

If you use this, you are the absolute bottom of the barrel- the dumbest buffoon to have ever existed. If you use Window’s “phone link” app, you should be absolutely ashamed of yourself.
