  • Upvote for you because you are engaging in good faith, making salient points (even if I don't agree with all of them) and I'm being hyperbolic.

    The reason for my rhetoric is because people in the US (and Germany and here in the Netherlands ...fuck man all over Europe) are not, in fact, collectively resisting fascists. At least not to the degree they/we need to.

    Punching a NAZI, calling back to WWII is a tactic to get people to wake the fuck up before there's nothing left to wake up to. I sincerely do not believe that civil engagement works anymore. Shaming, shunning, and if the need arises/opportunity presents itself, violence are the only ways to reach the fully propagandized. But that doesn't mean your path is a valid one to discuss sincerely.

    Well, I'm a recovering musician. That particular setting on the MiniMoog and the Lesley rotating speakers on the Hammond B3 are super famous, used in a lot of recordings so easy to recognize.

    When Floyd recored SIOYCD, it was just before digital hit (FM, sampling), and the band had made enough money that he could use pretty much any synth/organ/electric piano/piano and even more more exotic stuff that he wanted.     Both songs share in common the fact that although the keyboard parts are not very difficult, you would miss them very much in the song; it really would not sound at all like the song you know despite these being mostly "background" instruments.

  • Have a sympathy upvote for your wok hei. I love my cast iron. And my enameled cast iron. And my carbon steel. And my copper. I love my Japanese santoku and my German steel. Different tools for different jobs my friend.

    That said, if you had to populate a kitchen, from scratch, on a budget, cast iron as your main skillet is a good idea.
