Ultimately I used a gel style superglue to fill in the gap and it worked. Even if it doesn't bond to the metal it's just there as a filler. I can't find a replacement part or an stl. There's zero play now and I'm getting good prints. I see a lot of other issues happening long before the bearings go bad.
The cameras themselves are simply trail cameras with GPS and a cell signal. The images get sent to a server for processing. I'm also sure that they send at least some images to be read by humans manually.
These also have Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. I'm convinced that they also connect mac addresses of your devices to determine who is driving. I also suspect that they use facial recognition when possible.
It's a good skill to know so you don't get ripped off. You can find the most likely culprit and look up the book time and parts cost. Then go to the mechanic and don't tell them you know. Just say the light is on. If they come back with some wild price for the issues, then you can tell them to put the car outside and you'll come pick it up.
When I used to be a professional mechanic I solved many issues by simply reading the manual after checking codes. My library has access to the Chilton online manuals for free, there's also google. I've also diagnosed issues by reading Amazon reviews for parts after reading codes.
I own dullsters.net and i have been trying to clean out junk from previously abandoned projects and working on others. It has become a project in itself. There's no shortage of 3d printers, computers, tools, and other things around here. I'm always doing some kind of diy. A lot of times out of necessity as things lately have been breaking more than usual. I'm also on a high level committee for an organization with the goal of growing an e-sports scene to help veterans. It just feels really weird to do cool and interesting things at home and have an easy entry level job that isn't fulfilling and not seen as capable of anything more.
I think it may be my phone as I sometimes have similar issues with photo thumbnails if I take them with open camera instead of the stock camera app. Maybe I have a weird screen resolution or something.
The private contractor gets about $100/ day per person, so they so have an incentive to make up numbers. $100k / day out of the $250B is a rounding error.
