So was Einstein and didn’t treat his wife well if I remember correctly. I guess there are no heroes.

We know he was a far right agitator who wanted for there to be a massive right wing backlash against the left if I remember correctly.
If you plan on getting rid of the wood supports you can do a bookshelf with a built in ladder on the far side to get to the books and make use of stuff there and aren’t afraid of falling and on the near side put a couch with some sort of support so it can’t fall into the stairwell, but only do those two things if you’re ok with some clutter and difference in how that stairwell is set up, otherwise put something there to stop people falling regardless, thus the couch with the supports.

Flippanarchy@lemmy.dbzer0.com•using "natural" as a moral category is a form of post religious moralism
1·18 hours agoOne could say the same thing for Communism, or any form of government, or organized crime, or anything. Hell murder and violence are a constant in nature, so one might say nature is violent and unfair and we should do better to overcome our natural instincts to improve society.
Ah so the Irish potato famine, Indian famine caused by the East India company, or Holodomor sort of thing where it is better economically for the eliet to let the locals starve and sell all the food abroad type of thing I see.
Why don’t we table this discussion for a later date.
I hate that youtube music did that when google music worked better and allowed you to run it without connecting periodically. Now I have Grayjay and a music app I use in graphene, never been happier to listen to the people I subscribe to only and have to go out of my way if I want to doomscroll.
Look, we live in a complex world where there are 2 sexes for human beings, with some people having traits of both to varying degrees, that leads to physiological, hormonal, genetic, and neurological differences that make every person unique and therefore we will not have a world that treats everyone fairly or equally as that would be close to impossible. What we do have is the mental capacity to cooperate and learn and trying to blame sex or gender for differences when there is a more obvious cause for the issue, wealth disparity, then that is the problem. In gender terms male, female or other, sexual orientation, or whatever we have seen time and time again that rich assholes get away with things for a very long time, in recent times you’ve had Ellen degeneres (abusing employees), Trump (need I elaborate?), Epstein (see trump), Harvey Weinstein, almost every politician above a certain level, and all sorts of people with social standing, power, or money able to get away with small things at first then escalating until the foundation of their reputation collapses, and maybe they are able to come back from that or maybe not. If you look on the lowest rungs of the pay scale I would assume there is sexual harassment or holding of pay raises from managers against their poorest employees but the poorest still make the same. Are there societal or biological incentives that means a woman makes more in tips as a waitress then a waiter I’d say yes and those factors also play into men probably grouping together to help move up in corporate jobs historically. I can tell you right here and now though that the richest people on earth do not need you to help some of them get pay parity with others when they both make millions or times more than you will in your life, or neither of the men or women at the top will likely ever spend time in anything other than a low security prison after bilking people of their retirement savings if they see jail time at all, and going into war of the sexes or race war territory is the easiest way they can divide us. Yes finding ways of making inequality lesser is a good thing, just don’t let it be a tool of separation and division against ourselves when unity is most needed.
More like anti-fungal effects but still interesting.
But are you on the autism scale? This is the real question.
Hopefully nobody has the initials E. F. Pleasure Killer is not great.
Wouldn’t the clones be innocent people?

1·8 days agoI’m loving my framework 13, and have tried the following distro on it: Ubuntu (24.04-25.10) Fedora Bazzite Debian Pop OS Cachy OS NixOS Mint
Debian was a pain to get the firmware updated on, Ubuntu was super easy, but left because the potential spyware they may be putting on soon and the ID laws, Poo OS was one of the early ones and was nice but not for me, Bazzite was too controlled, but great for gaming, Cachy OS is something I will go back to eventually, Nix was nice but need more time with that package manager to figure out the best way to set it up my way, and mint was my first distro on there.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Let's say hypothetically I wanted to leave the US permanently;
5·9 days agoIf you don’t have any savings it will be harder but you and your wife may want to try Ireland or the UK for English language jobs, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia work as well but the cost of living may go up a bit at first. If you are in the US Canada would probably be the easiest and cheapest to move to. If you are able to sit through the ESL equivalent for the respective country’s language the whole world is your oyster, just see which countries have more open immigration policies and fewer human/civil rights violations that has low unemployment that you are interested in moving to for work, south Korea has a program for people to teach English and while that may not be a long term thing you don’t need to speak any Korean when you get there from what I remember.

Well the other one who was behind bars was a Jew who either committed suicide very suspiciously, after an attempted strangulation by a corrupt cop who was his cell mate on murder charges, or got suicided whenit was inconvenient for him to exist for the pedo in chief among many others. So of the two arrests both were the procurers and monsters (as well as the most disposable on a social level), but the clients conveniently never knew the guy and the files are lying.
