  • I'm fine with that

  • My actual goal right now is to call people out for celebrating someone's death, just because they don't like that person's opinions. It's heinous, barbaric, immoral, and leads to death of democracy.

  • Yeah that's what I meant by my speculation only making sense in one scenario. Im fine waiting to find out.

  • Who is calling themself a Nazi?

Who is dehumanizing who? Calling people a Nazi is dehumanizing. Not saying actual Nazis don't deserve it, but the term gets thrown around a lot, and when the message is also that Nazis should be killed, it's stochastic terrorism because somebody might act because of misunderstanding or because they are crazy. Also anyone who is intolerant thinks they aren't, or they justify their intolerance because they perceive their enemies to be intolerant or immoral or evil.

Who are some nazis that should die? Trump? Anyone who voted for him? Anyone who said something homophobic or transphobic? How do YOU identify a nazi?

  • Working on my house, so I haven't seen a motive yet. Has he said anything or is it still people fitting him into whatever narrative they prefer?

  • "Stochastic" terrorism is not the same as actual terrorism, if only because you don't actually know that it's stochastic terrorism. Half of the comments on lemmy since ck died could be considered stochastic terrorism. People been saying that it's ok to kill nazis for years, but everyone has a different idea of what a nazi looks like. Just a matter of time until some nut decides someone is a Nazi and kills them. Stochastic terrorism.

  • Lol of course

  • More or less disgusting than celebrating the brutal murder of someone whose politics you disagree with?

  • On lemmy, it's a conservative, in the right wingosphere it's a transgender. There is enough fake news out already to define whatever narrative you prefer.

  • Yeah, kinda. I guess maybe you can clarify. I'm saying that killing Charlie Kirk was an act of terrorism. I guess my comment only makes sense if the perpetrator was motivated by left wing ideals ie left wing terrorism, but that isn't clear yet.

  • He didn't properly disclose payments that were made, "hush money", which isn't itself a felony. They became felonies when they were linked to trying to influence the election.

  • Lol, well I don't think that really changes my point...

  • Ideological killings is terrorism

  • Yall are actually trying to start World War 3

  • Do you or do you not think it's ok to kill people who express opinions that you strongly disagree with? Because i don't. And if you do, then you have to allow for the possibility that they will also kill you for your opinion. It's a zero sum game, and any society like that will inevitably fail.

  • Dang dude, that's pretty messed up

  • Lucky for you I'm not like you then, with how you feel about murdering other people for their opinions.

  • I'd say the same thing to right wingers celebrating the death of someone on the left. Wrong is wrong.

  • I can't believe I'm discussing whether or not it is wrong to kill someone for the crimes they may or may not ever commit...
