  • I don't get how this would ever be a good idea.

I would be extremely uncomfortable seeing my face in adverts, even for products I use. I'm already uncomfortable with adverts using personal recommendations based on tracking my web history & habits.

I actively avoid those products in the future, and I can only see this alienating their marketing base further.

  • Because said offline program is used to open malicious archive files from the internet.

  • Those people are too stupid to spot the irony.

They just see an advertisement board mirroring their own racist thought process, and think how it must now be socially acceptable to spew their hatred around.

  • We gain by generating counter-slop? Wtf are you on about.

Anybody with a half a braincell can see the detrimental impact AI is having on social media & internet content generally. It's not astro turfing, it's just constantly dealing with generated nonsense that's causing the hate.

People who are more susceptible to manipulation, which unfortunately seems to be right-leaning folks, seem to fall victim into believing & spreading it the most. They rarely do any form of fact checking.

  • This seems like bullshit to me. The UK sector I work in, 68,000 jobs were lost due to back in 2023. They all quoted the same rubbish as "simplifying operations using AI".

My company has admitted this year they got it wrong and have backtracked.

  • Most likely the reason, among others, they're fighting tooth & nail to remove side loading too.

  • Surely the false personation laws would apply here then?

They modified the out-of-office message to distribute a factually inaccurate statement, by using the shutdown recipient's voice & inbound mail feed.

  • The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy

  • Sorry but the 35% who didn't vote, knowing the threat of Trump becoming president again was looming, are no different than those who voted Republican.

The whole world remember his first presidential term. And we all saw the Project 2025 playbook. The US is in a mess of its own creation.

As a Brit, I too have lost trust in Americans unless proved otherwise.

  • A security nightmare waiting to happen.

  • Estimates show we can sell up to 80% of an individual's visual field before inducing seizures...

  • Seriously question though, what is his end goal here?

I'm assuming this is out of the Project 2025 playbook somewhere.

  • Technically only your hands need to pass the threshold. You don't need to touch anything outside, bar the package itself.

  • Of course not. Implies they do their jobs properly.

  • Wrote a email to my MP for this exact reason.

The OSA needs repealing. All it's doing is either teaching people to follow poor digital hygiene practices, or forcing people to follow more risky methods of bypassing the OSA controls.

Whole guise of child safety is laughable when they've made zero attempts to educate everyone (not just kids) on being safe online.

  • They can pry it from my cold dead hands.

  • Ice Hockey. It looks cool to play.

  • I'm left leaning, however the only time I've watched Brian Taylor Cohen or Midastouch was because I got click-bated into watching what became a hyperbolic video subject.

After the first 5 minutes, when the facts become opinions, I immediately switch off. I simply hate fake shit.
