  • Thank you. A very useful and helpful response.

  • isn't going for the common sense easy issue the opposite of "based"?

  • Yep. The only time it ever feels like a legit issue is while driving, but nobody is supposed to be on their phone while driving in the first place, biometrics or not. It takes almost no time to pull over if absolutely necessary.

  • Good question. In the U.S. It violates your fifth amendment right not to testify against yourself/self-incriminate... unless a person doesn't know that and voluntarily unlocks it.

  • that's precisely why i never stopped using a password to access my phone.

  • Almost every protest this past year except for that one big No King's protest i've only ever gotten less than 36hrs notice. This current one I got sooner notice but there's no protest within 200 miles of me according to the map.

  • Has he? Seriously. Last election people kept saying he was returning to run for president as the Green Candidate but as it turned out it was other people that simply wanted him to return as the Green Presidential candidate and were acting as if it were true. He went so far as to publicly declare that he was not going to run for president. Still, every couple of days I saw someone new that said they thought he was gonna be the Green candidate again.

  • That's a joke right? Their current budget is magnitudes larger than any budget they've ever had before.

  • I went ahead and read the whole speech here

TLDR: The gist is that Carney is declaring an end to the old world order and since Canada can't afford to go it alone they will be seeking new friends, trade-partners, coalitions and massive economic investment in itself. He never mentions the U.S. outright but the entire speech is a veiled rebuke of Trumps entire approach to international relations most important of which was him declaring Canada's commitment to stand with Greenland.

  • most of those classic stiletto switchblades are manufactured in italy

  • A person could pay 100% tarriff on the cost of a Yamaha Virago(v-star) and it would still be cheaper than a Harley.

  • I ordered some oem motorcycle parts not too long ago. The parts cost was ~$12 the shipping was another $8 when i placed the order. Three weeks later i come home to the parts at the front door. Fast-forward 3 more weeks and I get an unexpected invoice from fedex for $7 in duties and tarriffs. Needless to say, i've ignored the invoices for 5 months. -It's not that i'm upset that there are tarriffs on stuff I purchased -it's the fact that fedex never notified me of the bill till weeks after the delivery. Considering that its nearly the same as the cost of the parts, there's a high probability I would have rejected the delivery instead of paying the tarriffs had I been given the option like the guy in the post.

  • over the years i've had trouble with the various app stores like Discover and Pop!_Shop which for me led to the use of the terminal. other than that there is the occasional permissions issue that may have a graphical solution but i've always used chown on the command line.

  • well that's a post i didnt expect. It's good to see he's gotten more love later in life than he did at the peak of his career.
