I read that link and I'm not sure I understand Doctorow's reasoning on the subject. I typically find people that dismiss voting with their wallet fundamentally misunderstand microeconomics but either way, both points (yours and mine) are definitely not hills I'd die on.
They used to say "you can get a grand jury to indict a ham sanwich." then that guy threw a ham sandwich at that ICE agent. Then the grand jury refused to indict him twice.
I used to hate AppImages until I had Snap forced on me. Then i thought AppImages weren't so bad and I fled Snap by running straight into the arms of Flatpak
Unfortunately he wasn't. He was a dick before the stroke he just had an incredible campaign/PR team that managed to successfully spin him as a progressive.

He had a helluva PR campaign to reform his image. I believed it at first until i finally found a video of someone giving a rundown of his background and his actions began making a lot more sense. Suffice to say i've found him to be an extreme disappointment but because i wasn't in his district and therefore voting for him I never dug into his history or background.
The complaints about sex-trafficking were never real or about sex-trafficking. They were the equivalent of today's internet age gate laws that are popping up all over. It was about control then as it is now.
