Just a dude on the internet, looking for content and fun! I love Linux, gaming, writing, reading, music, anime, walks, and occasionally movies too. Chronically ill and anxious too, that makes life quite interesting...At times.

  • In terms of videos, this is a common experience...AI Voice, Slop Images, it's all pretty gross to me. Often, I don't bother with video tutorials because they are too slow (I can read faster than they can speak). However, written guides tend to be less sloptastic. I suppose Linux tutorials in written form aren't being turned to slop as fast; I can often find what I'm looking for within a few searches by changing criteria and time ranges.

  • LMAO These chuds are so incompetent, it's almost sad if you think about it...I long for the day that AI gets abandoned like all the defective things that the Execucultists thought would make them neverending profit.

  • Welp, I can't wait for Firefox to crash and burn now, just put it out of it's misery already. These clueless CEOs are going to bugger everything up and push away the few people that want to stick with Firefox as Chromium based browsers aren't their vibe. I jumped ship a while ago, after they started playing with AI bullshit. Glad that I did, having read all the news about Firefox and AI up till this point. How fucking cursed.

  • AOSP is cool and all because it has the building blocks for a whole mobile experience, I long for a wide range of supported devices style of mobile distro (or bare minimum several brands)...That has the appeal and vibe of the distros that I like. It's the cool factor that drives this want (even though it might not be practical). This is mostly an idle thought on my part.

There are de-Googled phones that run Android fairly well and have their own app suites and compatibility layers for using Play Store apps too. Part of the reason why I long for something...a bit more flexible is so that I could install it on a phone with a bigger screen and be set. Sadly, the models that I have found are a bit too small for my liking, 6.3 inch screens are simply too small for me. I like a roomy 6.7 inch screen.

  • The iOS KDE Connect app doesn't work at all in my case. I've tried many a times to get it to work. It failed, to my general befuddlement (even though I followed instructions). At any rate I am tired of iOS, it's time to get away from Apple now.

  • I don't trust Google, but, Samsung is at least a bit more trustworthy mostly in terms of smartphones specifically. Still will be checking my settings constantly, making sure things are toggled as they should be. I will not be using any of Google's default apps and uninstall them when possible, using only Samsung Apps. I only do this after careful consideration, sadly, until a proper Linux distro that can be installed on any device manifests; this is a begrudging choice that I am making to have better distro to phone interactions.

  • Ah good, this confirms my earlier research into disabling the AI bullshit on Android phones...I happen to be getting a Galaxy FE S25 next week. I will be toggling all the AI garbage off. I'd stick with Apple (which has no Apple Intelligence on my phone as it's an iPhone 15+), but not being able to play nicely with Linux is a deal breaker.

  • Deeply fascinating, the combination of surrealist art and technical subject matter (peppered with the appropriate amount of snark and goofiness) stokes my curiosity about technology!

  • Oof, sad, but you do you...

  • The only good LLM is one that is being used by a highly specialized field to search useful information and not in consumer hands in the form of a plagiarism engine otherwise known as "AI". Techbros took something that once had the potential to be useful and made it a whole shitty affair. Thanks, I hate it.

  • Couldn't have happened to a worse company! Hope it hurts even worse later on and fractures the Execucultist's will to shill AI further. 😈

  • That was an incredible opening for a game! Makes me excited for what is to come from Larian Studios. Also, that persisting rumor that the end image had something to do with Elder Scrolls 6 was put to rest in a very cinematic way, I knew it wasn't associated with Elder Scrolls 6. Just like Jason Schreier had already indicated in a leak post. Bethesda could never and will never at the moment, nobody with that level of talent is there anymore.

  • I hope Erik Soelberg wins his lawsuit against OpenAI...They could do with a bloodied nose via legal trouble and paying out loads of money after losing!

  • Edit: LMAO I got banned from their trash instances, at least I won't have to look into the dumpster fire anymore! 🤣🤣🤣 I earned five badges of honor this day. ROFL

Wow, that's kinda, sad...I guess this is what AI lovers are doing these days, desperate for approval instead of accepting their tastes are actually uncommon (weird). Bully for you, I guess; keeping those plagiarism machine genned image posts clean of downvotes isn't worth all that effort in my personal opinion.

  • Oh, how cursed...I hope the AI hype leaves them wiped out.

  • I don't think the US government will be stupid enough to make themselves the proper enemy of the world.

  • Good move, as America is collapsing within (in no small part to the overreaches of our convict, would be dictator trying to break checks and balances that keep democracy healthy). I want Europe to survive this troubling time and become a more resilient force in the aftermath of what might happen in the USA in the coming years.

  • Honestly, that is when you start the prosecution of Trump...This is a sign that the US Government is flailing about like an absolute loon, these homegrown fascists have a lot to lose if Trump is properly prosecuted.
