  • Sometimes just switching to another phone I don't mind losing with it not having anything important on it depending on where I'm going, but wanting internet and phone access just in case.

  • Yep and once warranty is finished they sell off the hardware allowing me to pick up solid used Thinkpads to run Linux on. Warranty service is too important to corporations.

  • I'd rather go without VR than get a meta headset which is why I haven't had one for years despite interest in it. I plan to get steam frame. Not sure if at launch if price is too steep, but eventually if it gets discounted after a year.

  • I got hallucination from trying to find a book I read but didn't know the title of. And hallucinated NBA play off results of the wrong team winning. And gotten basic math calculations wrong.

Its a language model so its purpose is to string together words that sound like sentences, but it can't be fully trusted to be accurate. Best it can do is give you source so you can got straight to the resource to read that instead.

It's decent at generating basic code, and testing yourself to see if it outputs what you want. But I don't trust it as a resource when it comes to information when even wrong sports facts have been provided.

  • Innovative data collection for the shareholders so the line goes up!

  • I didn't make the initial comment. More made a guess as to what the previous person was trying to convey.

I watched until season 4, but felt like the quality has fallen though it did pick back up with Eddie who was a very memorable addition.

Did check out fans to see what people have been thinking about Season 5, and I'm not sure if I'll return to finish the final season out since doesn't seem fan reception has been great. Might end up joining the pile of shows like The Boys I dropped after Season 3. Gotten tired of the whole higher stakes than before but returning with more plot armor both shows trended towards.

  • Apple is already at the bad news stage and has been for years. Android is headed towards it, but people can make decisions to get hardware that is unlocked and has community support to install another OS on it. Devices that can already be unlocked and has custom roms will keep working with the ability to install apks without restriction.

  • I'm sorry please forgive me.

  • Guess it was a poor attempt at saying popularity and quality don't always align, which is also why stuff like reality TV shows had higher ratings than what are considered critically acclaimed shows. Or why some people prefer watching streamers influencers than tv shows and movies, so viewership and correlation with quality don't always match up. Logan Paul fights being huge viewership draws is an example.

Viewership is a metric that matters more to corporations after money than audiences who get satisfaction from whether they enjoyed the product than how many other people also enjoyed it. Which is why some things that were financial failures are still beloved by small group of fans that it resonated with it.

I do find though that TV shows seem really hard to figure out if it is good or not based on number values compared to movies. Have had to rely more on changing sentiment of viewers either bringing up how quality that initially drew them has stayed consistent or gotten worse by the season. Sometimes momentum keeps up just because of prior investment and wanting to see the end even if it got worse.

  • And forgetting side characters or even some of the plot, but having no motivation to rewatch the previous season again. So some emotional build up gets lost when that happens.

  • I noticed that they show up in the next section of video game related videos before I blocked those type of channels. It is interesting that video game clips tend to result in those type of podcasters showing up in those feeds, which is likely due to the strategy used by those groups using games to try to reach that demographic.

  • You need an account for an algorithm, which I dont use with youtube. My algorithm has been blocking channels.

And when it comes to search results youtube isn't great usually defaulting to showing the highest subscriber videos over what might be more relevant and pushing down smaller channels.

  • Yeah, got burned too many times with shows that started great, but longer years between seasons didn't lead to a good follow up.

I stick to mini series these days for new shows like the Fargo seasons which are self contained.

  • Its more people who leave do it because they no longer need the social media or are fine with cutting themself off from it and being fine with missing out on content from there. Hard to convince other people to do the same, but you can leave methods to contact you like trying to push them to use Signal to stay in touch.

But, having them drop something they like and were never sketched out by sharing personal photos and info on a publicly accessible social media site is unlikely.

  • Its why I haven't gotten around to watching it. It'll likely be couple years or longer before another season comes out, so I track shows to watch in the future these days if the sentiment towards it is positive when it is complete.

  • I hope China moves to Linux once they get around to pushing their own consumer PC parts and move on from Windows. It's just madness to me that countries will use OS of countries they aren't on good terms with and use it to do important work on it and store important data on it.

  • Yeah people will probably turn to China when it comes to consumer pc hardware in the future like how when it comes to drones its been primarily just China actually interested in selling to regular people.

  • Gamer Nexus said it best pointing it out that the tech bros want to do to computers what private equity did to the housing market of turning everything into subscriptions.
