Yeah I went from cast iron to carbon steel. So easy to clean and non stick. Seasoning it was so easy. All I did was cook onions and garlic with oil a few times.
Looking at all the new features and how none of them have appealed to me with it being different attempts at forcing copilot I think the only happy Windows users are ltsc ones. Closest experience to a dumb OS that doesn't change and just installs and runs the programs you install and came with minimal bloatware compared to new regular Windows.
You should use Firefox with ublock origin in the future or Brave over Opera. And also set downloads to something like ask location before downloading so it doesn't auto download stuff without your permission.
And with you being on Windows 10 I'm guessing your think pad is pretty old. I'd move onto Linux with it being much lightrr and running better.
And if they have a thinkpad their hardware may be pretty old with it on Windows 10. Linux will run better on it anyways which is another reason to move on to it.
If you really want to stretch that gift card check out isthereanydeals which will show you the lowest historical price of games and then wait for a sale since you'll have an idea of what a good sales price is. You don't need to spend the 20 bucks right away. It can buy multiple indie titles or old triple a games during sales.
Its hard to find a non smart TV these days. Its present even in the cheapest TV at the retail outlet.
How long ago did you buy a dumb panel to even be able to find one? Only dumb panels I've found have been PC monitors.
Once you start shopping for LG, Samsung, Sony, TCL, etc everything is a smart TV. And lot of people buy TVs based on specs like HDR quality, latency, and frame output and those TVs usually come as a smart TV whether you want it or not.
The Boys. Season 3. If the season finale had been episode 6 I would have returned, but the final 2 episodes went more Marvel than Marvel being so afraid to kill Homelander or Butcher. It made the plot armor way too had to ignore, and became obvious they were just going to drag things out for multiple seasons.
Customers aren't asking for this shit. The issue is that companies don't seem to try to deliver products customers want anymore. Instead they hop on some bullshit trend to try to appeal to investors to buy their stocks to pump it up because they want to show they are the next big thing in innovation.
I'm going to watch it to see how it ends, but seeing the reception to the episodss out so far pushed me to wait until everything is out. If it is still meh but not terrible then I'll get around to it eventually. Maybe.
I'd figure people who think watching ads is entertainment which is basically what his video are would be the group to buy a wallpaper subscription. And he has a lot of subscribers so likely figured there would be enough suckers out of millions to make something that barely cost anything to make to see how many would bite.
Depends on if it's a game I'll also be playing on the Steam Deck and not just on ny desktop. There is heroic launcher, but I prefer the Steam Linux experience.
I hate his style of content that is loud and comes off like one huge infomercial, and is the biggest stereotype of the whole smash like, subscribe, patreon, annoying thumbails, buy my merch among youtubers. He's the poster child when it comes to tech for that.
And given that lemmy tends to be into tech, whether they want to or not his content is something that gets more shoved on them than other content creators. Like this submission for instance.
Which why worse content creators in other fields like streamers or whatever don't get the same attention, since those are something fans of streamers are more likely to be exposed to. So among streamer fans or model kit fans or cars they may have their own "Linus" creator that keeps being shoved on them and populating search results unless they block the channel.
That is kind of funny, since I generally can't stand youtube, since so much of the content from the thumbnails to sponsor drops and begs for likes and subscribes gives off a desperate infomercial quality among video results that youtube tends to promote to the top.
One of the main reasons I prefer shows and movie over youtube for entertainment.
Him not ordering support for Fortnite on Linux says it all about how serious he actually is about wanting to escape OS ecosystems like Apple, Google, and Windows. He doesn't care about alternatives.
His only goal is getting more profit, since when it comes to supporting movements that would help Linux grow that might allow him to not be at the mercy of other corporations he chooses to do nothing. As long as he makes profit he is happy to be on copilot riddled Windows and spyware Google Android. He considers Linux a waste of money to put resources towards.
But, what does that have to do with a TV? Its just a large display to view things like movies, shows, and play games on for those that want a cinematic large experience.
Yep all those people not liking the idea of AI labels telling on themselves. For how much the AI bros talk up AI they are incredibly skittish about having to show what products were created using it. If it is so awesome why the fear?
Like an artist who traces their drawings, but doesn't want to disclose it so more people will assume they free handed it.
Costco charges an annual membership to shop there. Walmart doesn't. Both market offering low prices. Costco focuses on good customer support for their customers and good warranty policies and treats their employees better. And prices are cheap with them focusing on bulk and rotating out items that don't sell well to maintain that. And with inflation Costco has become more popular to try to save money on goods since they sell stuff like food too. Unlike Costco, Walmart has a reputation of entering into new territories cutting prices, putting local stores out of business due to inability to compete with their prices, then raise prices once they've secured their territory. They are however both stores selling stuff at the end.
Anyways, some don't care, and a product is a product so membership to them is seen as bloat the way you see the Steam launcher. So it all depends on perceived value. I understand your disdain for steam if you find no value in it, but for me playnite doesn't meet my needs. Nor have I had issues with Steam being resource heavy. Its just not a thing that bothers me, but I do understand your point of view and that perceived value on your end won't change just as mine won't change. We are different customers with the only similarity of intersection being interest in games, but expectations on features being very different.
