its really really strange and disconcerting. in a good way i think. it makes me wonder if this is how americans feel about the other games–is it as weird for them to see chimneys and house layouts and street signs they actually recognise in a game? do random “for sale” signs in SH2 or GTA or whatever kind of knock them off balance in the same way?

i mean i was also bullied at every step. but it did stop at college. when people aren’t trapped in small locations with the same 40 people for years they aren’t anywhere near so hostile. inevitably some people might not like you, but their reaction to that will be to go somewhere else or do something they enjoy, not to be awful to you on purpose. college students are adults with adult freedoms (their own space to calm down, the ability to walk out of situations, the ability to choose who they associate with) and adult responsibilities (more sensible social expectations, treating your peers badly makes for a hostile and difficult work environment, things that were “just how it is” are now criminal physical assault). its like that whole bullshit alpha wolf study; when you put animals in an unnatural stressful captive environment weird shit happens and gives rise to behaviours that don’t happen in the wild. the self-determination of college benefits both potential parties in bullying and makes it far less frequent, far less severe, and, vitally, possible to just walk away from.

not everyone will magically be cool in college, but the structures that facilitate and reward bullying are now gone. it becomes massively less common.

i didn’t ~meet my lifelong friends~ at college. but over 4 years i slowly learned that people aren’t necessarily awful, and how to interact with them without being intimidated or too hopeless to try. THAT helped me make actual friends later. i hope you find nicer situations going forward, comrade

this is an opinion i see a lot that really surprises me. LFG took massive amounts of central game content from literally not possible for a lot of people to pretty easily accessible. if you’re someone who can’t speak in video games (socially anxious, ESL, 10 year old girl with good internet sense lol) LFG reaaally revolutionised the game and is the only thing that opened up instances/raids. i never would have seen massive sections of the game otherwise

i think the issue may be allowing tumblr to send you emails. i only get them when someone sends me an ask. install an adblock and xkit on firefox and you can cut out any other bullshit you don’t like
