  • The international political tensions and experience from dependence on Russian gas should make it obvious why it's a good idea to remain aware and vigilant on domestic production and independence and dependency on foreign actors. Both US and China are named in the excerpt, and both have been threatening the invasion of other countries. Being dependent on them for products and resources would make it harder to react in opposing ways.

Shipping scrap to China to melt it and then ship it back seems like a very long distance to traverse as well. Ship do mass, offsetting their dirty environmental impact, but local handling would be preferable.

  • Trump has a clear path to autocratic power right now, but that would be put a bit up in the air if there was a major war.

It would be, at the same time, it is either way, and conflict and war is a strong enabler of dictators. Putin rose from a 2% popularity to absolute systematic power through (probably staged) terrorist attacks and conflict.

  • There are alternative providers.

  • Broadly and selectively, yes, I feel comfortable expressing my feelings. I'm usually more honest than the social norm, and probably more open than is common.

  • Which is why I recommend letting the police deal with him, instead.

Even if they can't or don't resolve the situation, a paper trail of previous issues and concerns will likely help a lot in later proceedings.

  • Maybe the reports and articles should be titled “Trump aide announces invasion of Denmark ‘soon’”.

Maybe we should post pictures of the US flagged with their respective colonizers. worldhistory.org (full image)

    What a shitshow.

  • I would say so, yes.

(I'm not the original commented, but I do use them too.)

They came to be after Nvidia published their gaming streaming as an open source alternative. Nvidia dropped their product. Sunshine and moonlight still actively develop.

Personally, I use them to stream my desktop to TV, for desktop, watching stuff, and sometimes gaming.

  • That's clever

  • May be different depending on regulation/country?

  • The functionally, not the product, yes. Sunshine and moonlight is a more performant alternative to native remote desktop (rdp).

  • They’re not lazy, they’re maliciously compliant.

Often times they're not even compliant.

  • The group policy management has a lot of options. You can control automatic and manual behavior, or do the whole update delivery yourself. Of course, that all comes with effort and investment into administration and management.

  • told the Financial Times that it was “currently impossible” to store data fully in Europe because US companies dominate digital infrastructure. […] “If I want my information 100 per cent in the EU . . . keep on dreaming,” he added. “You’re setting an objective that is not realistic.”

    I… don't see it?

I suspect he's in a serviced tech bubble like MS Office 365 and makes a wrong extrapolation from that?

He also expressed confidence in continued co-operation with American companies to crack down on bad actors, despite US tech companies having aligned themselves closely with the Trump administration, which has repeatedly signalled it would step away from supporting Europe’s security.

Why's he swinging the complete other direction here? He remains hopeful? Good luck, I guess.

  • You say Russia has air superiority, but Ukraine uses jets every night to destroy incoming missiles and drones. Every night, Ukraine strikes Russia across the border and deep into Russia. Can you elaborate on what you mean by air superiority?

Ukraine uses fiber-optic cable FPV with 50 km reach, and hit targets deep inside Russia. Can you elaborate how Russia “has a huge edge in fiberoptics drones”? What do they have that is so much better?
