    Russia isn't talking about peace.

    The (obvious) hyprocricy is on the US that accept and disregard the whole situation while doing corruption talks in private and peace talk publicity.

    Sadly, the EU does not take decisive action either, in the face of Russia's continued terrorism and Ukraine's human crisis.

    I certainly wouldn't want end users calling me because they lost their recovery keys and consequently all their data. So I can understand offering or even recommending fallbacks.

    The real solution would be clear and obvious documented choice for an informed decision. Online backup for fallback but meaning possibility of court order compromise and other external management risks, or self-managed with no recovery in case of loss.

If it weren't for the EU upholding international rules and taking action that make the negative effects very obvious, China would have probably started their own invasion already.   • It's time for the EU to drop the anti-circumvention laws pushed onto them (and other countries) through trade deals long ago. It'll enable a true right to repair, as well as resilience against foreign influence by being able to inspect and replace firmware and software.

    While they're at it, maybe reduce copyright after death too.

  • I haven't watched it, but They Shall not Grow Old (2018) (TMDB) may also be of interest.

    A user review says it takes a neutral position, and while it shows negative consequences, it also shows people liking comadery etc. So not sure if it would serve your goals in particular.
