  • Isn't xmodmap specific to X11? Fedora tends to be on Wayland by default, and I'm fairly certain their KDE version is

  • This is why we developed the tagging system

  • Thankfully this isn't ubiquitous, at least in my experience. The Hades franchise has its second game in beta (is it still in beta? I haven't checked in in a few months) with a female lead and I haven't noticed a peep about that. Hopefully that's not just the communities I'm part of and it's actually been received as well as I've perceived

Basically "not all gamers" but not in an asshole way haha

  • Every time I talk to my mom about her work with Microsoft products I'm dumbfounded "you have 3 tools from the same author and none of them interact with each other in any meaningful way but you have to use all 3 to get anything done?"

In order to resolve a concern, she has to check teams for the message to check her outlook for the email which will link to the ticket on Azure... And this isn't even an uncommon workflow lmao

  • Could you imagine, a huge 25k people protest. The police show up in riot gear and all of the protestors stop and go "OH TOOOOOOOTLES" and a bunch of vans drift around between the cops and humans and start unloading protective equipment (helmets, gas masks, etc) and keep a few bats/guns up on the walls

  • So are you being intentionally obtuse or just can't be bothered to debate in good faith?

  • What is the official name of Mexico?

  • How about we call them "Union Members" seeing as they're part of "the Union" as decreed by their founding fathers? Instead of bulldozing over all of the other "United States" in America and the world by replacing the imperialist "American" with the... Somehow less imperialist "United States Ian"?

  • If you're speaking Spanish, and that's the colloquial term in your region, yes. That's exactly how linguistics work.

  • Go set up an ollama instance and melt your worries away. Data in your hands once again.

However, you should also learn some restraint. Privacy and security aren't an all or nothing battle. Everyone has some holes in their armor, they need them to breathe.

  • Valve is making their distribution more readily available to every device, rather than locking into their ecosystem

That sound any better Mr. Contrarian? They're doing a good thing, don't let the language get in the way

  • Yes, "excessive acceleration"

  • Fair mindset to have in these events

Kicking a dead horse a little bit but this sentiment is slightly wrong. This is a good mindset to have in your day to day life, not just at these events. Always give what you can, because when you need it, it will come back to you

  • This sounds neat, I kinda like this

  • No there's no joke. It's the same beetle, top and bottom. Split down the middle to be genetically male and female

  • This is actually good debate etiquette in my opinion. I have no issue going and having the conversation however it happens, but as soon as you take my argument apart I'm gonna leave it as is so that others can see the learning opportunity that I had

  • Okay, I do see your point now. It is slow-down but not a showstopper, I'll agree.

Don't ever let a slow-down stop you, though.

  • I hate this argument. The term America has been used to refer to the US for so long now that it's colloquially the same.

The term "USian" is just as bad as "American" if you really give a fuck about the names of countries because the USA is not the only "United States" they could be part of either. If you're gonna try to find a word that is instantly recognizable as "citizen of the United States of America" why not just use the one that literally billions of people already use every day?

  • How? How does what you do with the object you take from me affect me or my ability to give gifts at all?
