"Man rests from one labor by doing another." That also works for managing chronic pain, as I've discovered...

  • Because this is a 'Meta' level community about the overall Fediverse, or specific FV issues. Your video appears to have nothing to do with any of that.

Better places to post it might be, I don't know... resistance, womens' rights, anarchist, social science, anti-capitalist, etc communities. You'd have to search around to find active ones where this has good chances of being seen, of course. Cheers.

  • Wrong community?

  • Pardon-- I can read French, but can't form proper sentences, yet.

I've liked THIS Mansfield.TYA song for years, but have been lukewarm about the others I've heard. Well, they recently released their latest album ("Monument Ordinaire") to YT, and I'm really liking this one...

  • Well, it's about time!

  • Whoa, how about that? And the comments do a good job explaining things...

  • Photographs used to be far more expensive

Yet there's plenty of examples of people goofing around in posed shots.

Somewhere in this community (I think it was, anyway) there's at least one photo of someone posing to look like a disembodied head, which was evidently hugely popular in... I think it was France or Britain, for a while. In the mid-to-late 1800's, I think.

  • Lesser-known fact: superheroes existed before the advent of gaily-covered tights.

  • I'd argue 'laudibly active,' typically involving multiple posts per day, usually with extra info as a comment. Can't really ask for more!

The various comics communities are fun IMO. Some fine people making sure various dailies and small collections are shared, every day.

  • An extract would help, possibly reprinting any novel theories or interesting writing about the matter.

  • Okay, I won't form a new belief system out of it, but thanks for explaining!

  • Artwork by Joachim Cols and Ben Baert

Interesting, the art co-produced by the band's vocalist. I like it!

  • Having read that it was common in Japan, I wonder where else 'night soil' agriculture was used around the world. IIRC, like India's "Shudra" caste, it was the lowest, most untouchable caste in Japan that handled those duties.

Hell of a sorry job and position to have, unless maybe it would be working in coal mines and fertiliser factories, in which not only are you covered by toxic particles / stench, but it's also wrecking your health over time...

  • it was almost always safer to be a foreign radical than a native one…

    Hmm!!

  • Kind of a side note, but I'm a big fan of grill pans.

Assuming you have stove-top area, you can place them right on top of your spiral / burner elements, and exactingly control the heat levels in ways which is more difficult with charcoal. There's also far less elements, expense and cleanup involved, and you can cook inside year-round for those in colder climates.

  • Wow, what a striking photo, and striking color / sharpness / contrast upgrade compared to the original.

So, I see that the Smolny Institute was Europe's first public educational institution for girls, founded in 1764 in accordance with a decree signed by Catherine the Great.

One wonders in what other culturally-significant ways Russia led Europe over the years. I do seem to recall leading painters and intellectuals liking to hang out in Moscow's cafes... er, well I think.

  • TBH I was mainly joking, above.

Still-- the flavor's complex-as-hell, but I can tell you that it starts with sauteing "panch paran."

  • dal makhani

Oh, Hecuba! (KITH ref), makhani-style sounds... pretty lovely?!

  • Okay, I'm gonna try to dunk on everyone here who's already posted, by combining actual NASA Apollo mission recordings with perfectly-matching ambient music:

Listen to it and chill, mateys...
