  • I genuinely believe most forms of advertising on the web are ableist because they try to make them as distracting as possible. Removing those ads is accessibility.

    I don't consider ads at the start and end of videos to be ableist, but they're still annoying. Mid video ads, pause screen ads, and banner ads are all ableist.

  • This is gonna make me want some. When I was a child and my parents would take me to my grandparents to visit my parents would always buy some on the way to Dahlonega.

    I saw at least one comment saying they've never heard of them. I heavily associate them with the rural Southeast US and/or Appalachia. As suburban sprawl crept our further I saw them less. The area I'm in now I don't ever really see them.

    They're very much one of those snacks where you can buy them from the store and convenience stores, but it just isn't the same. Sometimes restaurants have them and they're pretty good, but it just doesn't feel the same.

  • Yeah, realistically, just get people onto a server (we can bike shed about which is best for that later) and then when they learn more about what they are/imply and what different ones are like they can move if they want to. I'm sure I'm preaching the choir here, but everything can be pretty easily migrated to your new account. The only thing that won't be is your old posts/comments and replies to those won't end up in your new inbox, but that's pretty minor.
