  • Not to mention invisible when it does it's job right. When public health is supported people don't get sick, epidemics don't happen, things look good. So some genius gets it in their head to cut public health funding. Why waste money on public health when people aren't sick. Then public health gets cut, people get sick, people blame the health care industry which isn't the same as public health. That happenes until public health gets a little more support, and people stop getting sick, rinse any memory of the last time, and repeat.

  • Right! The regulation states that you need to use standard xxx#### except standard xxx#### costs hundreds to thousands of dollars. Except the law says you need to conform to it. Except only big companies have them because the little ones can't afford it.

  • In a roundabout way, yes a researcher does get paid for their publications but not directly. Universities exist on their reputation and their reputation is determined, in part, from the publications their researchers make. So a researcher who publishes a lot of high quality publications has a better chance of being offered a position at an institution with a good reputation, which can offer to pay them more.

  • Unfortunately those are the most expensive parts right now because they both require memory chips. Perhaps consider buying used, might be tough to find DDR5 DIMMs but used GPUs are plentiful.

  • Unfortunately it's not your choice to make. A guy who couldn't manage to run a casino, literally an infinite money hack, is running the show. I wouldn't put much faith in him if I were you.

  • Well obviously the only people who care about protecting children are The Chosen People of God, the Republican party. Everyone else who isn't a Republican is a child molestater just waiting for a vulnerable child. We should give Republicans, who are the only good people ever, access to any child they want any time so they can protect the Children from the disgusting dangerously deranged Democrats. /S

  • Because middle class is used wrong in North America.

Poverty class is simple, you don't have enough to live.

    Labor class is divided into three;

Low labor, your barely paid enough to scrape by.

Middle labor, your paid enough for your work to live.

High labor, you're paid well for your work. Perhaps you own your own small business.

Middle class, you aren't paid a wage or salary anymore, you're income comes from the things you own. As rich as a politician or nobility but not much political power.

Upper class, in old Europe this would be the nobels. Duke's, Earls, Lords, that type of stuff. In modern north America this would be the ultra rich. You have political power and you own a lot of stuff. This is where most representatives are.

Politician class, former Royal class. You rule, extreme political power and wealth.

Most people in North America think they're in the middle class when really they're in the Labor middle class, it's very different

  • That's a good question, followed by a lot of bad assumptions.

  • Perhaps no, but anyone who has watched a loved one develop dementia knows that dementia patients begin saying the most uncouth things. It's like the filter we all have in our heads to stop us from saying the worst stuff is one of the first things to diminish as dementia takes hold. If he had dementia things like this happen more often. Thing is it's impossible to tell with Trump cause he never had a filter to begin with.

  • Agreed, it really depends on the game. Battlefield with Art Stylized graphics would look terrible, just like how if Final Fantasy was done with Realistic graphics would be weird.

  • Yeah my schools had the same zero tolerance policy when I was a child. Say an 80s level sociopathic bully beats up a much younger kid, both would get suspended. That way the school can't discriminate against a child if they discriminate against every child. The school did something and it can't possibly be discrimination, doesn't matter that it makes school worse for every kid, the school board covered their ass.

  • Remember kids, when you're a powerful politician and you shoot your friend in the face, remember to drag your friend and his family around on a PR campaign so they can apologize to you for the time you shot them.

  • Because if they don't he'll sue them for being very unfair, and then he'll get the stadium named after him and a $300 million dollar cheque. He owns the judicial branch and unlike every other president before him he is willing to use it as a tool for his petty revenge. Turns out that every other president actually believed in a higher power then themselves, be it God or country. Donald doesn't believe in anything.

  • There may be some rose tinted glasses there bud. 2009 was also the peak year for people losing their homes and unemployment from the 2008 financial crisis. The wars in the middle east were in full swing. Plus way more people who thought the world would end in 2012 than you would think which was so annoying.

  • Woah Woah Woah now, you wouldn't want anyone to misidentify you as a socialist soya boy terrorist would you? Cause a real patriot doesn't complain and will refuse to take any bonus or time off. A real patriot pulls down their pants when their asked to bend over. /S

  • You're right but you're ignoring everything the other person said. Go back 25+ years and there was a mono-pop-culture. You'd go to work after the latest episode of Twin Peaks and just discussed it. Those conversations weren't preface with "Spoiler warning." Either you saw it or yo didn't. It was a cultural touch stone that most people would at the very least know of, but probably was as engaged with as you were.

Sure, Japanese people weren't watching the same thing as Americans, or South Afrikans and The Brits weren't consuming the same things. It was still a lot more homogeneous culture back then. Not saying now is better than then or anything, just that it was very different.

  • My dude he's the mayor of New York, that's literally his job. The mayor of New York is a lightning rod for all the frustration people experience living in the city. Mandani just took the most hated job in the world, sure he can do some good for the city. He's still going to be hated for it. That's just New York.
