  • The author of this article talks about wanting to find better places, but doesn't even mention options like Lemmy or Mastodon...

  • Third spaces that don't require spending money are very important too. If you can't afford a large enough living space to entertain, you shouldn't have to spend money somewhere else to spend time with your friends

  • Lemmy is small enough that there are some people I recognize, especially in the Star Trek meme community. It's not really made for conversation though, it's a forum: a place for sharing your opinion

  • What you really want though, is Dry Curaçao, which is not clear, but is significantly higher quality

  • One industry? People are so mad at AI because it's just another industry, a new one with massive environmental impact, and basically no real use outside of generating misinformation and stealing from artists. It's the absolute worst face of the tech sector, and totally deserving of all the hate it receives.

  • I think the rooks should have to be pushed by a bunch of pawns

  • We better not run out of whales then

  • I imagine it's gonna be tough to top the classic Wrap it Up approach, especially as we discover all the strange new STIs. Physical separation is important for all kinds of things

  • Also Spock anytime Spock does something human

  • I'll take both

  • Your donation goes towards running Wikipedia. There's a blurb for pitching that, with a few details, but if you want everything, you gave to go to another page and read it? That all sounds exactly like what I'd expect from a banner ad seeking donations for a website

  • I don't know about this. In my experience, the speakerphone speaker is way higher quality and easier to hear than the normal phone one. I just don't make phone calls

  • That platform could be used by anyone though, so long as they look suspicious enough.

  • Doctors get advertised to too. Only the best of them are actually keeping to what you'd expect. The whole system needs to be changed.

  • He's a crystal hippie

  • Unfortunately, because it might be the only way to learn about an alternative treatment that wasn't advertised to your doctor. If a law like this is put into place, it would have to be accompanied by greatly strengthened regulations on pharmaceutical reps too

  • He's basically a crystal hippie, just like all the "alternative medicine" people that joined with Trump as soon as the right went full anti-vax during the pandemic. He's got some nice ideas, from where people like that overlap with the left, but they're held alongside all the crazy anti-science ones. He's only as successful as he is because of his name

  • He might never even get a real appointment. I'm sure Trump's campaign just wanted him to avoid splitting the vote.

  • He's about as with it as you can expect the Pope to be. The Catholic Church has never really lead the charge of progress
