  • Yeah i don't know all the nonbinary terms. I just know mine, genderfluid. Just because I didn't fully do my homework on all the nonbinary terms doesn't mean i don't know which one I am.

Btw, I would love know know all the nonbinary terms by heart, but I can't seem to have the terms solidly stick in my memory. I'm overwhelmed while reading them all.

  • Or it's flavored with the oil extracted from fruits or something

  • I occasionally notice in the media that some Chinese people call women "sister." Is that a well known enough tendency to the point a Chinese person could call a black person "sister" and have it understood that it's being used differently than black people typically use it? Or in reality might it be taken offensively?

  • Have you found good lyrics/poetry/some nice general pieces of writing about being trans?

  • You are not betraying anyone. You are simply trans. That has nothing to do with betraying others. Embracing this means you're outgrowing them and their expectations they need to accept you as a partner. It seems like you aren't doing anything wrong.

If they feel marooned by you outgrowing them, that's to do with themselves and their own sexual preferences, not you. That's for them to sort out. In the meantime, maybe you could focus on sorting your gender stuff out. Two different plates belonging to two different people.

Actually, I don't see betrayal in any of this. Sounds to me like you've both outgrown the dynamic that's required to keep seeing each other. I wish you smoothness in this new chapter of your life.

  • An idea, what if everyone in a wheelchair had a gas mask attached in case there's a gas leak or fire? They need to breath harder to exert extra power to move and could take longer to maneuver their way out of harm's way.

  • believe in the good tenants

Is this religion-related? I'm spiritual but not religious, and I wouldn't know.

  • imo that's a lot darker than just bad spray tan, has she acknowledged it since?

If she has I haven't heard of it.

I lived with a white Tibetan Bhuddist for a while. They were constantly dehumanizing people around them, but then would do things like boast how Tibetans pray in simple shacks while Bhuddists in China have beautiful ornate temples. This was in response to me just having a video of a Bhuddist temple in China up on a TV. Someone told me she had a lot of anti-Chinese takes so this didn't sit with me well.

I didn't say any of this, but looking back: Like really, you're going to try to look humble by claiming you have anything to do with something humble? Also, what if the Dalai Lama had instead shared his wealth? What if they mostly worshipped in simple shacks because wealth was withheld from them? And what about the Tibetan Bhuddists who want to worship differently in a way that requires more resources and a highly artistic and ornate temple? People don't need to be poor, there's just the existence of capital, and capital has the tendency to collect more than spread.

  • I think that's just a bad fake tan because she was often orange in her early career, but I can see why someone would wonder if it was blackface.

She's a Zionist. And believes in the Tibet Myth of "Friendly Feudalism". She's banned from China after promoting Dalai Lama's image.

Btw, there's a video of Dalai Lama having a child suck on his tongue. I think she stopped associating her image with his after that, but I haven't heard her speak against him over it.

  • I'd like to start with language, question how it's used, and then encourage people to think about why they're saying things the way they do and maybe improve on the reasons behind that and the language at the same time.

Tl;dr: Sometimes you can't reach them, but sometimes you can.

I agree. People who start socializing with kind people really late in their life need people who patiently talk about these things with them. It can be a lifesaver. Just because someone is saying something that you're not cool with doesn't mean they're not ready to change.

There's people who've gone through a rough upbringing who stop doing a shitty behavior just because you give them awareness of another option. Not saying everyone is willing to change, but many are. Even if for them it'll take years of practice, helping orient their trajectory may kickstart their growth. Ignorance should be welcomed as long as its corrected and they're willing to change.

The universe and humanity's place in it is vast and our individual understanding is limited. We all don't know more than we know. Being given grace when we are trying to evolve for the better is an integral part of pretty much every human's learning process. We are not here only to discuss what we already know, we are here to learn.

  • Ugh why does Lady Gaga have to believe in race conspiracies? She'd be so much cooler if she didn't. It's harder to like celebrities when them meaning well equals racism.

  • That's called figuring out how to mask right? While I'm not autistic, I'm still trying to understand what masking is.

  • No, I'm seriously trying to understand for those who'll bear with me.

  • Is "man by default" language always misogynist? Is it because it erases the possibility that something could be gender neutral or feminine? Therefore erasing gender identity that isn't masculine?

  • I think someone saying it to say "hey, you..." to me, or "omg" or "woah" is different than when they mean "you look masculine." Those are some of the different ways I hear the word dude. Usage matters.

I think I don't understand genderfluidity for others in this way. I know some people that do not go by she/he pronouns exist, but I only understand having she/he/they all at once. If there are resources or experiences you guys can share about being genderfluid and not going by either she or he that'd probably help me understand a better picture of how other people's genderfluidities can work.

  • One surgery can be a lot of surgery. All the best of luck on your healing. Nice to hear you're being covid-safe.

  • saying its gender neutral is enforcing men = default, aka enforcing the patriarchy, and enforcing misogyny.

Honestly asking, how is it misogyny? For me I tolerate being called dude very easily, but it's not like that for all genderfluid people I suppose. I guess it would bother me if someone was saying I look like a dude on a day where I only identitified as "she/her" and was dressed very femininely. But calling me dude without saying or implying that I look like one is very different. That's fine to me.

I had both of my genders repressed, so I may be extra hungry to collect overt acknowledgement of both of my genders. I'll have to see in the future what does and doesn't bother me. You may be saying something useful to my own journey. Not saying this is you, for me idk if me deciding to avoid being called "dude" would be me overthinking and being too in my head.

If you're vegetarian/vegan, how do you stand other people still eating meat? I fear if I go vegan one day I'll be far too sensitized to people eating meat to not try to control other people's actions.
