  • I used to sleep naked but now I wear pajama(s?) inspired by early RHCP to stay decent for this kind of situation

  • Tfw you feel this way about pizza but wake up one day in your late 20s and are suddenly lactose intolerant x.x

  • What's the difference between a phd mathematician and a large pizza?

The pizza can feed a family of four.

  • Curie three times. Her work was so groundbreaking that she got name recognition on the same level as the rest of them as a woman in the late 1800s. Based on my experiences with modern women in stem, I'd expect she worked way harder to get where she did than any of the rest of them and as such I'd expect her insight to hold a lot more value. I'd pick Pierre too if he was also on the list

  • Im glad somebody is fighting trump, but good lord i do not want California to become the blueprint for America. Driving along the PCH from avocado farms in Oxnard to Malibu and seeing the sick fucking filth that is the California wealthy right next to the migrant workers they exploit is in my top 5 "most disturbing things ive ever experienced." That is taking into account that I used to work on strategic bombers and I know in gruesome detail what a 2000 lb bomb does to a human body. Newsom is a bitter poison pill whose voting record shows that he basically agrees with Trump across the board, and his imitation of trump is barely even ironic. He's always imitated trump in terms of policy.

  • "I don't remember if thats classified or not"

"Holy shit im arguing with toddlers why am I like this? There's no way this is worth my time"

"Am i actually accomplishing anything by pissing in this persons cornflakes about a topic that doesnt really matter just because im right?"

Common reasons I self censor. Half the time im amused by and enjoy engaging with the faceless void of people and chatbots that make up the anonymous internet, half the time im just overwhelmingly exhausted with it

  • IME trans spaces are kinda just low key hostile to men in general. Not in the way where everybody is hostile or anything, but if you pay attention you'll notice that misandrists get away with a wild amount of shit slinging in trans spaces as compared to most other flavors of bigotry being policed quickly and harshly

  • This is what happens when you use regex to parse [X]HTML

  • I like both for different purposes. I'd much rather be in a kayak if im cruising around a larger body of water like a bay or a lake, but putzing around on a slow moving river or in a swamp I much prefer canoes. Or drinking; drinking in a canoe is a good time, drinking in a kayak is a way to get dunked

  • Beware! Refracted sunlight causes the nefarious gay agenda to appear. Always stares directly into the sun when outside to minimize your chances of viewing EVIL GAY REFRACTED SATANLIGHT

  • Exactly! Cooking down some of the liquid and getting the cabbage a bit of a sear makes such a big difference, its insane.

Are you toasting your rice too? If not and my comment inspires you to look up/try toasting your rice before frying it, your fried rice game is about to dramatically improve

It's not the nyt recipe, but here is a good one with no paywall. Also, I know it lists like 12 or 15 ingredients, but kimchi rice is at 99% power with literally just kimchi and rice as ingredients. The way you prepare/cook the rice and kimchi make way more of a difference to the end result than adding more ingredients

  • California is strictly better than every red state in almost every measure. They literally hate it because it directly disproves their worldview that conservatives are good for the economy.

  • You went further than I did haha. I formed my opinion after reading the title of post and the "Between 2010 and 2021" at the beginning of the preview, then skimmed the article to see if I was off base. I've spent enough of my life trying to get/maintain grant funding from fascists to know what it means when the data is that blatantly cherrypicked.

  • Notice how the study conveniently cuts off right before the meat grinder that is the Russia Ukraine war started. I'd imagine the methodology of the study disproves the conclusion they made if you don't cherrypick the data. I wonder who would benefit from doing an obviously bunk study to convince people think that sanctions are worse than wars?

  • I think thats just called crying alone in your room

  • I think they might be contrapositives. To me, redneck engineering roughly means "surprisingly good and durable solution made in spite of limited materials and or knowledge" where kludge roughly means "surprisingly shit solution barely good enough to work 1 or 2 times despite having the money/ability to produce a much better solution."
