Based on my experiences with modern women in stem, I'd expect she worked way harder to get where she did than any of the rest of them and as such I'd expect her insight to hold a lot more value.   • Im glad somebody is fighting trump, but good lord i do not want California to become the blueprint for America. Driving along the PCH from avocado farms in Oxnard to Malibu and seeing the sick fucking filth that is the California wealthy right next to the migrant workers they exploit is in my top 5 "most disturbing things ive ever experienced." That is taking into account that I used to work on strategic bombers and I know in gruesome detail what a 2000 lb bomb does to a human body. Newsom is a bitter poison pill whose voting record shows that he basically agrees with Trump across the board, and his imitation of trump is barely even ironic. He's always imitated trump in terms of policy.

    It's not the nyt recipe, but here is a good one with no paywall. Also, I know it lists like 12 or 15 ingredients, but kimchi rice is at 99% power with literally just kimchi and rice as ingredients. The way you prepare/cook the rice and kimchi make way more of a difference to the end result than adding more ingredients

I formed my opinion after reading the title of post and the "Between 2010 and 2021" at the beginning of the preview, then skimmed the article to see if I was off base. I've spent enough of my life trying to get/maintain grant funding from fascists to know what it means when the data is that blatantly cherrypicked.

  • Notice how the study conveniently cuts off right before the meat grinder that is the Russia Ukraine war started. I'd imagine the methodology of the study disproves the conclusion they made if you don't cherrypick the data. I wonder who would benefit from doing an obviously bunk study to convince people think that sanctions are worse than wars?

  • I think they might be contrapositives. To me, redneck engineering roughly means "surprisingly good and durable solution made in spite of limited materials and or knowledge" where kludge roughly means "surprisingly shit solution barely good enough to work 1 or 2 times despite having the money/ability to produce a much better solution."
