  • Cruz alleged that "bias is particularly evident in Wikipedia's reliable sources/perennial sources list" because it describes "MSNBC and CNN as 'generally reliable' sources, while listing Fox News as a 'generally unreliable' source for politics and science. The left-wing Southern Poverty Law Center gets a top rating, but the Heritage Foundation, a prominent conservative think tank, is a 'blacklisted' and 'deprecated' source that Wikipedia's editors have determined 'promotes disinformation.'"

It's kind of funny how when your goal becomes to present factual information, there aren't many especially right-leaning sources. I wonder why that might be.

Can you think of why that might be the case, Ted?

  • I would be surprised if they force the requirement on LTSC.

I could believe they force it into enterprise licensing, but LTSC's whole deal is that the environment doesn't change and only gets security patches. It's made to be used in kiosks, CNC controllers and the like. Machines that are supposed perform one task reliably.

This is also the reason it's the best version of Windows for the desktop, and why Microsoft makes it so challenging to acquire licences.

  • I would much rather the game be polished and good on release rather than out on time. The demo was great so I trust the process.

Plus It'll give me more time to finish Silksong

  • God Hand is probably the most underrated game on the platform. Dont let the visuals or the crass humor turn you off. It's made by Clover (the same devs behind Okami and Viewtiful Joe) and is mechanically deep to an absurd degree. Easily the best beat-em-up on the console.

  • Portal was one of the best puzzle games ever crafted. It's pretty close to being a perfect game.

It's clever, funny, and most importantly, short enough to not overstay its welcome.

The sequel is also very good, but it's significantly longer and the writing and puzzle design suffer as a result. However, the addition of the multiplayer mode was a very good decision and is without a doubt better than the single player mode.

If you haven't played either, I highly recommend them.

  • No. I don't think The Boys would be an accurate portrayal.

I think it would be much worse. Like apocalyptic.

  • This is probably fine. The connection to DDG will be over HTTPS, so a captured packet would need to be decoded first. And if someone were to manage to break the encryption, then they would also need to know what service you used the password for.

Ultimately, it's more secure to generate locally, but it would be a huge amount of work to get anything usable out of a packet capture

  • I mostly agree, but it's way easier to teach a kid not to swear at all, than to teach them about when it's appropriate and when it isn't.

  • It's old wisdom from way back when soap was made from lye.

That kind of soap is much harsher and can dissolve the seasoning, which is just a bunch of layers of polymerized oil that protects the metal from rust and gives it a glossy, almost non-stick coating.

Modern dish soap is nowhere near that harsh and is completely safe to use on a seasoned cast iron pan. It's just that your grandparents and great grandparents beat that lesson into their kids and it stuck.

Cast iron is fine to cook on, but I much prefer stainless steel. It's a bit harder to get the results you want, but it's way easier to maintain.

  • Yeah, pretty much, but not quite as hot so you can sit in it longer, and it's not a social activity which is nice if you fall on the introvert side of things.

  • This is a pretty big deal and should be patched, but it's not the worst case scenario. The worst case scenario would be if an attacker could do this remotely through your game.

Basically, if someone has the ability to change the shortcut on an end machine to specify additional arguments, your game could be used to run malicious code on that machine under the guise of your game, making detection harder.

The benefit is that modifying a shortcut is not an easy thing to do without tricking the user, or using an already established remote control of the endpoint.

However, this is still a vulnerability and one that should have a minimal impact if it were patched. You should install this patch if you make games with Unity.

  • Baths are fucking awesome though.

The only 3 arguments I've ever heard otherwise are:

    • Baths are for girls and gays

Already a nonstarter if I don't care about fitting into your fragile idea of masculinity

    • You just can't get clean sitting in a tub of dirty water

You're supposed to shower first. Baths are about relaxation, not cleanliness.

    • They're a huge waste of water

This is a fair and valid argument, but if you limit it to be a special treat once in a while, then it's really not that bad

  • This part sucked real bad.

Back in those days, if you wanted to play some games imported from Japan, they would check that you had your region and language settings set to Japanese as a sort of soft-region locking.

I had to spend an extra $50 for ultimate to make it so that I could play my shitty anime games in the late 2000s.

  • “The gangbangers that you deal with, they think that they’re ruthless, they have no idea how ruthless we are,” Miller added.

“They think they’re tough, they have no idea how tough we are. They think that they’re hardcore, we are so much more hardcore than they are, and we have the entire weight of the United States government behind us. What do they have? They have nothing behind them. So we are gonna win, they’re gonna lose.”

This reads like edgy fan fiction. Like, I would fully expect to hear this exact dialogue coming from Shadow the Hedgehog in some weird cop AU

  • Switching from a smartphone to a dumbphone is usually not about increasing privacy in the first place.

People tend to make the switch for mental health reasons, rather than privacy ones. When your phone goes back to being a direct communication tool rather than a passtime, you tend to realize just how much time you spend during a day doing basically nothing.

  • Convincing my mom to buy a box of cereal was a lot easier than convincing her to buy a copy of Roller Coaster Tycoon

  • If you leave your cart in a parking space, you're sub-human

You're passible if you take it to the corral

But a truly good human will stack the carts into proper rows if the carts are loose in the corral

  • The future is stupid.
