It really cracked me up 15-20 years ago when there was a fair amount of panic about the government / world order microchiping people at more or less the same time that everyone was starting to pay to carry around GPS devices that listen to you.

The way that number is derived is hilariously old fashioned and error prone. They don’t change it so they can plausibly put out month after month big job gains then quietly adjust it down later. Trump has been doing this the whole time with neutral to amazing job reports in most of the past 18 months yet, somehow, over those 18 months job gains are near zero.

It’s also worth noting that the official unemployment rate has been unbelievably stable. As in, no one should believe it. Workforce participation has dropped from 62.5% to 61.8% during Trump2 telling us unemployment has gone up, but they’re massaging one number to make another look good.

First off, everyone is acting like this is a problem for beef prices (end of list). No, this is a problem for any mammal living in the southern US. FFS, some of the cases already are dogs- how are people not putting this together?

To come back in 2025 and cut funding to to the program, pull out of partnerships with nations dealing with screwworms, and re-open the border to animal disease vectors is insanity.
