  • We have the greatest supply of resources of any country on planet Earth

This guy really is trying to sound like trump. He also calls environmental protections radical as if having clean water and air for our future generations is a bad thing. Sudbury still bears the scars of minings impacts even after millions of dollars in environmental remediation.

  • I agree we shouldn't care if some cry baby cries because someone committing treasonous acts is held accountable, but many of our politicians won't speak up about it because it divides us and it could lose them their seat. Plus our media conglomerates would blow the story up to make more people angry (good for business in media) and divide us further, with a healthy dose of misinformation as well.

  • Yea, that last quote is exactly why pierre didn't win. Don't let the media and social medias fool you, Canadians DO NOT WANT what is happening south of us. Some of us are upset with our leadership sure, but we know hate isn't the answer.

  • We know damn well our politicians are far too spineless to call this what it is. And i hate to say it, but with the current culture war, locking her up would make some of the right even more radical, they won't agree its treason and fearmonger the government is coming for you next.

  • Its why her supporters love her

  • Didn't ontario just say the cameras aren't effective and they need real cops to hand out the tickets? Yet the courts can't seem to handle the existing amount of tickets.

  • It seems to be more about holding drivers accountable for their actions. Its not like they've demanded jail sentences for speeding tickets, they just want legitimate charges to actually stick, hopefully with the goal of using that revenue to invest in safer roads and transit systems. Plus having more charges stick will help identify specific drivers whom are breaking the rules too often and should be suspended.

  • It could be argued that finding a new home for them is worse in the long run as it has more potential to prolong abuse and captivity of whales. If the new home loosens their standards and started abusing the whales, new whales could be brought in and abused as the older ones pass away. Euthanasing could bring an end to that cycle, although none of options here are particularly good.

  • Only if you have some evil socialist public healthcare. Privatization means you can charge the victims for the impact of shitty and unsafe infrastructure

  • With some of the politicians in power these days, it will be pushed as finally putting an end to her climate lies or some other bullshit culture war topic.

  • Thats the problem, on average rurally living folks tend to be more conservative.

  • 100% agree. If whoopi goldberg had chose their name for gender purposes, i could see them getting hate and being told it's a stupid reason etc.

  • It is their responsibility to ensure that everything beyond their target is safe before firing. This can become a grey area whem walls or other concealment is behind the target or when the target is threatening enough people that the risk may be worth it to end the threat, such as injuring 1 bystander to save 4 other victims from being shot, almost like the trolley problem.

  • "Our experience tells us at an early stage that there are some crimes that are unlikely to ever be solved – such as those without a clear estimate of time or location for the incident or if there is a lack of CCTV or witnesses.

"The more time our officers spend reviewing CCTV footage for these offences, the less time they have available for patrolling railway stations and trains, investigating crimes which cause the most harm and providing a visible presence across the network."

Well which is it, a lack of CCTV footage or a lack of time/police resources? They seem to flipping back and forth between these 2 excuses, even when camera evidence is available.

  • Its just a think tank bro, it isn't even legislation bro.

  • People always complain that socialism is a slippery slope into fascism yet are somehow blind that capitalism is doing the same thing.

  • I honestly just assumed I upset bike riders who do view their noise as a safety net, which i would argue is mostly a moot point given the sound proofing of modern cars means you don't hear the bike until it would already be too late anyway.

  • I use spotify and i was very reluctant to start. Eventually i caved because i wanted an algorithm to help me find new music and for the most part spotify does a decent job at that. As things get more expensive it will be one of the first things I'll cut out.

  • Most cities have noise bylaws. Revving an engine at 3am is usually in violation of those laws, running a lawn mower in day time is not. I get that it sucks they are loud and many lawns are useless, but its also much more dangerous to mow in the dark and more people are sleeping at night than in the day time. You also have to make some loud noise with our current standard mowing technology, but the same isn't true for the cars in question, they are modified intentionally to be much louder.
